Well for me i am always quite embarrased how i get so emotionally involved with shipping some couples more than others and even shipping couples at all. I have finally figured out the reason i get so emotionally involved in some more than others. Watching Everwood, The OC, and ER (Last 2 seasons) i don't really care if one person is having sex with somebody not who i think they should be with or kissing them or going on dates with others and even going out with 30 different people before they end up with each other. It does not bother me at all. For some reason in Phil of the Future and Kim Possible it does bug me if one of the persons in the realtionship goes out with somebody else, or they kiss somebody else, and etc. Neither of these things happen very often in Phil of the future and Kim Possible. Josh kissed Kim and Yori & Tarra kissed Ron. Ron liked Zita for a while and Kim liked Josh for a while and Erick for like two days. and they each hung out with the other for a few episodes. So neither never really one-uped the other in terms of being with somebody else. Without Erik, Ron at least not for a while anyway would have told Kim his true feelings.
Anyway to the original point of this thread. lol. I think it's that I maybe well Envy Kim/Ron & Phil/Keelys Relationships with each other. I mean a too have a true friend who is a member of the oppisite sex that leads into a relationship is just a beautiful thing.
Hopefully nobody flames or laughs at me. ;D

The reason I ship them: because they are there, and the set-up and mood of the show just demands it!
I had this discussion on my Heroes forum, or a similar one. We decided that people tend to ship their ships because of their own predispositions. It's very subtle and complex.
Back to me: I tend to usually ship what I perceive to be the obvious (mind you, there are a few exceptions here). Kim and Ron have always been the obvious potential couple. I also like how their relationship is based on friendship, for I believe that friendship is necessary for a healthy romantic relationship. And, heck, they just look so dern cute together.
Of course, what I perceive to be the obvious isn't necessarily what others perceive to be the obvious. For example, my Heroes forum. We have many upset people who shipped what is known as "Paire" who were horrified and angry when the the show revealed that the two romantic components of Paire were actually blood related. I did not really ship "Paire", so I wasn't too heart-broken, rather, I found the development much more interesting. However, in their mourning, these poor shippers spoke of relationship hints in the show that they thought were completely obvious that I never really saw. Yet apparently these ship was obvious to many. Oh, well.
Also, their may be cases where there are two obvious ships that contradict one another--in this case, I usually pick the one that is the more obvious to me (based on the many subtle intricacies of my predispositions).
*takes deep breath* Sorry. I don't know where that all came from.
But, basically, I ship Kim/Ron because it's obvious.

Well at first I didn't ship Kim/Ron becuase I thought Kim wasn't being a great friend to Ron. But now that I've seen them together I'm liking it more and more, Kim is helping Ron feel better and vice a versa ^^

Honestly, it's because I'm a romantic sap. How can you not ship the slightly off normal guy that will do anything (include climb a mountain to save her life) for a very strong willed girl that does everything she does because of that slightly off normal guy.
And there's also the fact I wouldn't mind something like this to happen IRL (okay, so it's basically the exact same sitch).

I always believed Kim and Ron were perfect for each other. The way the show is setup and the mood of the show also contributes to this. As some said above, Kim does make Ron feel better about himself even in the earlier seasons. Ron is the perfect guy for Kim because of his kind nature. They were best friends since pre-k. Kim has dated other guys before and never felt as close to anyone as she does with Ron. If im correct, Kim is Ron's first actual girlfriend and we know Ron is taking it seriously. He is actually trying to make something of himself. In Ill-Suited he joined the football team just for Kim, even after he failed trying to play sports in the earlier seasons (can't remember the episode). This shows that he would probably do anything that he could for Kim. Kim is always backing up Ron and tries to help him when he is blue. In "The Big Job" when Ron was going to give up his hunt for a job, Kim was trying to help him out with his job hunt. Kim took the job at Club Banana for Ron, so that he would get a job also. I would write more, but i am really tired right now and going to continue reading my harry potter book

I ship it to fit in. Ok, ok that’s not really the reason. I have to two reasons for shipping it: 1. I like Ron. Any ship that he’s in and he’s getting the appropriate lovin’ I will support to my dying day. Unless of course to live I was force to renounce it. Yeah, I’m a weasel like that. 2. Having said that, I will have to say that out of all the Ron possibilities, Ron/Kim was my favorite. The bond they share is something else, and they really do deserve each other. Besides long-time friends getting together makes me squee like a little girl.

Why do I? Okay, here goes...
While my reasons for shipping Kim/Ron mirror both Whisper and Nabusan, I wanna go all out...
Three weeks after finding KP, the moment that I revealed to my online diary (and anyone who read it 3 and half years ago), that I was a fan, and in my first little write up about how I love the show, I wrote the following, dated September 20, 2003:
Okay, yes, my first reason of Kim/Ron shipping was because I thought they reminded me of Ron and Hermione, but as I spent most of the summer of 2003 reading and rereading the Harry Potter books OVER AND OVER AND OVER AGAIN... I just saw HP everywhere.
About 2 weeks later, when "The Fearless Ferret" aired, I officially became a Kim/Ron shipper, dated October 4, 2003, I wrote this:
I mean, I watch the episode nowadays and I still see the same sparks. I really do.
And, the day that "A Very Possible Christmas" premiered, I wrote this, dated December 5, 2003:
One of the MAJOR reasons that I was a part of the "No On 65"/ Mission Kim Possible / Save Kim Possible group, to get season 4 was (besides the fact that ending the show at 65 episodes was wrong on all levels), was because I wanted to see Kim and Ron as a couple. I mean, 18 months I had been a shipper, I wanted to see them be a couple, and 2 years later and 3 and a half years as a fan, I got my wish.
Nowadays, I'm a K/R shipper because it brings out the romantic in me. They are precious together, they obviously love each other, they've been friends since they were four, and they became more. Plus, I'd have to be a total idiot to NOT ship Kim and Ron after watching the show as long as I have, and since I'm not a total idiot...
Plus, Kim and Ron's relationship is the perfect relationship, it is THE relationship that I hope to have when I finally find that special someone. I mean, seeing those two kids in love gives me faith that I will someday find love and be happy like these two. I mean, that's the only way to say it. Their relationship is just simply beautiful, it has the capacity to make me wanna cry in happiness, because I'm crazy like that.

Well,my main reasons are all in this thread already, but I thought I'd add a little something else. I heard this theory in a podcast, adn as far as I can see, it runs pretty true. People tend to ship the people they want to be with the people they want to be with. In my case, I want to be both of them, in a way. I mean, I'm already kinda like them, particularily Ron, but I don't have a guy friend, or really any friend, with whom I am that close.I envy their lifelong friendship, because I've never had that; I love how they support each other, and despite of their tiffs over the years they stick together. It's just beautiful.
Aaaaaand I'm done being dorky for now.

Mainly for the reasons you said, but yeah...

Why shouldn't they? I know I would love to be in a great relationship with someone I've known for since Preschool.

And there's the rub, a lot of preschoolers don't hang out with other preschoolers of the opposite gender.

And there's the rub, a lot of preschoolers don't hang out with other preschoolers of the opposite gender. True. I did not start liking girls till 6th grade. not that i liked boys like that but i never really was interested in females. Not so much that i believed in cooties but i can recall a few convos at 3rd and 4th grade lunch table that were NC-17 at the time. Just like how could a guy ever want to have sex with a girl (I edited in clean terms in this thread).
