I haven't read through this whole thread, but I did want to jump i with some info. This episode may have felt a little more "message driven" than the others because it was. All Disney Channel shows do one episode on healthy eating as part of a broader corporate initiative. Doing a show with a "message" is never our favorite thing, but we felt we could have a little fun with it when we (and by we, I mean Kurt, if I recall) had the idea of spoofing Super Size Me. Given that the kim happy meal toys appeared in that movie, we loved the layers of ironic self reference. And by doing a parody, as many have noted, of those preachy 80's cartoon tags, we were pretty sure most people would get the joke. So to those who got the joke, huzzah! And to those who didn't... you obviously didn't grow up watching the same crummy cartoons that we did. Makes sense. Good to know you had to do a healthy episode.

My first review! Yay for me....
I have seen Super Size Me, pop up edition in my 9th grade health class. Ironic.
On the documentary, the guy (for the life of me I can't remember his name) had to eat McDonald for breakfast, lunch and dinner for 30 days. Which his girlfriend wasn't to happy about it, being a vegan chef herself. If he is asked to super size it, he had to super size it no matter what. I remember he got sick because of it.
I put a 3, because...some parts just grossed me out. I don't feel like going to much into that.
I can understand, Kim a little bit for her actions. She couldn't do much anyway but 'push' him to better eating. Ron is eh...loyal to B.N and didn't like Mr. B bashing it. Such...eh...relationship Ron has to B.N can blind its bad points. Ron being stubborn decides to show it isn't and brings a camera along. Anything telling him not to, makes him bound to keep at it. So in my view there wasn't much she could have done either way, but stick with him. Though I did wish she did more.
Okay, I loved Mr. B in this episode. ^_^ He's so funny at Smarty Mart trying to teach Ron about eating his veggies. Also the ending credits was funny too, made me think of the Mr.Smart reruns, I've seen.. (I'm thinking of the right show right?)
But the ending was......eh.....a bit of a rip off. I wished they showed Ron working out and eating right to get back to his normal self. Always by the end of the a cartoon episode everything is back to normal.
I did love Kim and Ron hug! It made my r\k shipper self happy. ^_^

"Hablamos means "they speak.""
Actually, it means "we speak." And since when have Mexican fast food chain names ever made sense? Heck, Taco Bell (which is probably what Bueno Nacho's supposed to be parodying) just uses gibberish.

I was a bit put off by the politically-correct theme. It's as if the creative team is trying to atone for all the scenes in past episodes where Ron heartily enjoyed fast-food fare without any consequences. I think a lot of fans are missing that this ep isn't to be taken at face value, as though this were a PSA. Rather, it is a parody of the movie Super Size Me. That explains why Ron eats like a pig, why Rufus and the shaky video camera, etc., etc. I know what Super Size Me is, and I know this is a parody of that. But the public-service message is still clearly there, and it's obviously intended as such. And I'm sorry, but that's annoying. In fact, it's more annoying after watching it for the second time on Saturday night. Once you're familiar with the gags, the finger-wagging gets harder to take. I'd drop my initial rating of it from 4/5 to 3/5. This one goes on the very short list of episodes I wouldn't be inclined to watch again. BTW, I think Ned had one of the better gags this time. "Ron, that's not like you...okay, that's like you." Heh.

The only problem I had with it, was that the episode was kinda pointless. Ron is eating Fast Food all the time and in the end he turns into a monster. End of Story. Apart from that, it had some funny moments and was entertaining. The scene at the end credits was probably one of the biggest laughs of the whole show! But it should have been an 11 minutes episode. I give it a 3.
PS: Am I the only one who was disappointed that Shego didn'T say anything?

Oh yes, I remember how He-Man told me what to do if my clothes catch fire at a barbecue. Seriously! From M.A.S.K. to even Inspector Gadget, in the end they always had time enough to teach me the importance of drinking milk.

I really enjoyed the episode^^ Ron is getting funnier and funnier each episode ;D
And I feel pithy for the villains....getting kicked their butt from teh Rolk.
But...to be trueful...this ep decreased my love for shipping K/R... Ron was soooo gross at eating and was nasty to everyone and Kim...

I can't believe no one's mentioned how funny this scene was: To be perfectly frank, I don't see much difference between this scene and the one in "Rappin' Drakken" where Ron couldn't get to work on his paper. Didn't much like that bit, either.

I thought the episode was pretty good. Of course, I've only seen it three times because I wanted to watch more Golden Girls. But, I haven't touched food since before the episode aired. I don't want to. That was the perfect scare tactic to use. I cried everytime I saw Ron get fat. And yet the episode got a 5/5 with me? Instead of having orgasms, I was too busy sobbing for Ron's obeseness. At least some good came out of it. As God As my witness, I'm never going to a fast food joint ever again. Though the subtext of this pic: Is proving to me something... I'm still standing my by remark that this episode has to be a result of what happens when the KP crew gets drunk. But adding, parties with Paris Hilton, watches Super Size Me, and then eats Taco Bell and McDonalds at the same time. Don't get me wrong, I liked the episode, it was just... different.

Well, after waiting around patiently like a half-way normal person for this episode to actually air on the Disney Channel *sticks nose snootily into the air* I was quite pleased. Normally I'm not much for the Public Service Announcement episode, but this one was hysterically well-down. I happened to have scarfed down an energy drink and hot cocoa prior to viewing and that might have made me see everything as hilarious, but the fact remains that I laughed many a time on this episode. I especially loved the various film references, and heck, I'm a sucker for the Incredible Hulk. Not the best KP episode, but definitely a very good one. 4/5.

I dispise this epi. I have not been able to see the whole thing yet but what I have seen so far is not cool. It's like Ron has regressed two seasons. Maybe I'll feel better about it later but as of now. "Bleegghhh" I really noticed it this episode too, but it seems that Ron has been this way this whole season. My hopes that Ron would be a tiny bit more mature now that he's in a relationship with Kim seem to be not comming all that true. Even his lack of fighting skills seems to be more 3rd grade level than season 3. Compare Ron from StD to Ron season 4, its almost night and day. I really would like to see a bit more of the more mature Ron.

We were promised character development of Ron... I don't think Disney has to automatically pull a complete 180 out of the blue. 'Sides, I've always loved his dorkiness. It's funny, it's refreshing, and it's HIM. And the knowledge that he does have these somewhat more mature qualities hidden deep inside just makes him all the more wonderful--even if they aren't always shown.

Well, after waiting around patiently like a half-way normal person for this episode to actually air on the Disney Channel *sticks nose snootily into the air* I also was the one of the only people who waited for it to air too. I held out a week longer than anyone else. Ill-Suited... I lasted 1 day. We were promised character development of Ron... I don't think Disney has to automatically pull a complete 180 out of the blue. 'Sides, I've always loved his dorkiness. It's funny, it's refreshing, and it's HIM. Guys, it's one of those... slow things. Slow and steady wins the race. I'd rather it be a slow thing than really fast.

The "PSA" at the end of the show was a touch of brilliance, Mr. Schooley and was the most hilarious part of Grande Size Me.

Plus it was kinda funny. I mean, Ron talking to no one in particular.
It kinda broke the 4th wall, but I forgive it. The tag doesn't technically count.

Okay, like usual, I'm writing my review before reading the posts. I like to place down my thoughts about the episode without being influence by others. When I read earlier in the past week what this episode was going to be about, I had doubts about it, especially reading what Ron does to himself in protest to what Barkin said in health class. I like was already feeling I'm not going to like "Grand Size Me" at all. Well, now that I've seen the episode, I say those feelings were half right. The first half of the episode was just wrongsick IMO. I understand that for some fans that Ron was very much in character for being so insecure, but I think they pushed things *too far* with his insecurities. I can't see Ron being this dum. He is a cook for crying out loud, and he doesn't know nothing about a healthy diet and the dangers of eating too much junk food? Give me a break! I'm sorry if others may disagree and like the first half, but I was just not happy seeing Ron (my favorite character overall) stuff himself like a pig and end up being so fat he couldn't sit in a desk. I'm surprised Kim didn't stop him from going too far. When they make a character look really bad like this, I'm not laughing. This is not like "Ron The Man", "The Ron", or others where Ron does silly things for the sake of popularity, etc. No, this is Ron being a real idiot just to prove something that he *suppose* know to begin with! (breathes deeply before sighing) Anyway... That was the first half. The second half was the most enjoyable part when Ron turns into a orange version of The Hulk. This is what makes KP episodes work. Gee, they certainly made Ron so much like The Hulk alright. Even the way he talks is Hulk-speak. It was fun seeing Kim being chased down by a number of villians aiming to grab that device thingy (Hey, being hearing impaired, I can't hear correctly most of the technical terms anyway), only for Hulk Ron getting in their way. The Possibles Square were a real help this time around, and the Roth 2.0 once again showed how great a car it is. (Move over James Bond! Kimmie have a better car than yours! ;D) As for the K/R moments, the ending was the best given how the held each other. The rest was not very encouraging. I understand others said that Kim still stuck by Ron's side no matter what, and I find that cool and such. Yet this still doesn't lessen my distaste for the first half, for I still think Kim would have put her foot down and put a stop to his pig out, no matter how many people point to me that the first half was necessary for Ron to become Orange Hulk in the second half. So as public service annoucements go, I find this a very poor way to make one. The formula for KP just do not mix well with public service messages, unlike other shows like He-man or She-ra. I remember a fan said that KP just shouldn't do public service annoucements like they did with "October 31st" and I'm in total agreement. The best episodes are the ones that are not blunt public service messages slap in your face, especially if it makes a beloved character look very bad. So overall, I give this episode a 2.5/5. Being generous, I round it to 3/5 for the poll. Like I said, I enjoyed the second half very much, but I was not laughing at all during the first half. Not one bit. I understand Ron have his insecurities at times, but this episode just went too far in making him look really stupid. A cook of his calibar shouldn't be this ignorant when it comes to food. If I do rewatch the episode again, since I recorded it on my DVR, I'll watch the second half as much as I want and will not ever watch the first half. Things I noticed: - It seems the Drakken/Shego team maybe is no more. Shego was seen sitting next to Drakken at Henchco, but she wasn't with him as he chased Kim for the device thingy. - Wow. The Roth now has missiles! That car sure is tricked out alright. ;D - The ending-credits blurb is the first time ever they really made a character talking to the audience (aka us). It was silly, but I can't see this kind of joke works for KP. It pretty much reminds me again how much the episode was quite literally a slap-in-your-face public service annoucement. It's just not KP regardless.
