I just downloaded this software that is basically just like Microsoft Word, only free. And the page I downloaded it from encouraged me to help spread the word about it, so I decided to make a thread for it here to spread the word! www.openoffice.org

I have heard of that since 2005 when it first was coming out into the computer techie world I always had free MS Office versions handed to me, so I just installed it and never used it. But on Linux, its a dream come true Anyways, I guess I should have spread the word ages ago Sorry.

I'm using it to avoid paying Microsoft to get 'Microsoft Office [colon] Mac' ;D At least not until they release the 2008 version Though OpenOffice is kinda slow since they don't have an Aqua version available yet

Though OpenOffice is kinda slow That's the only disadvantage it has. I'm using it now for...a year or more because I got sick of looking for my fathers MS Office Disc. OpenOffice is better in most ways anyway.

It's a good suite, Open Office... but I'll still with MS Word... but hey you gotta get used to that specially when renting PCs for last-minute homework and projects ;D
