Hey y'all! I finally got a spare moment! Scout camp is going awesome for the most part. It snowed our first week, so we chopped down a tree, decorated it, and sang carols.
But guess what our official Tuesday night meal is?
NACOS!!!

Qualification: You are a lucky human. I remember the last time I went to Assassin Camp. Those were the days...but not anymore. *Sigh*

Today is hike day and last night was Honor Trail, so I had spare time. Otherwise, we have very little time to do frivilous things--like shower.

You don't shower at camp? Oh, Heaven.

My little Chevy is taking the roads just fine, to my surprise.
Oh, we shower at camp. We have to. We had a no-showering contest going on (which I lost after three days). Then our boss found out and ordered us to stop. Apparently there are all these rules about hygeine and other junk like that. Our winner went thirteen days (she had left on trip hours before our boss made us end the contest, and she didn't find that it ended for another two days.

Thirteen days?! God. I can't imagine going 24 hours without a shower.

She now showers every day. She was disgusted with herself, but she did win.
We have now begun a much more positive flossing contest. You must floss everyday.
I'm not looking forward to this upcoming week. Girls come up this week for church camp, and they're awful. I think I ranted about them in another post.

I've never flossed. LOL.

Church camp seems to always bring out the worst in kids.
My brother in law's parents take my neice there every year and it takes a week to get her back to normal behavior thereafter.
When I was in public school the church camp kids always came back as real hellions.

Here's what the girls do:
They and their adult leaders bring up every freakin' car anyone has access to, and we don't have places to park them that our fire code would allow.
They shower and shower and shower. Last year they emptied our water tank in a day.
They refuse to use the outdoor toilets (though the single indoor toilet we have for non-adult use has been out-of-order all summer and hopefully will stay that way)
They will not come to breakfast on time. We honestly have girls that wander up at 10:30 wondering why our kitchens have been closed for over two hours.
They're mean and will not obey any rules.
They dress like sluts, and their leaders let them.

And it's a church camp?
Man, that's why I stay away from religion.

.... They refuse to use the outdoor toilets (though the single indoor toilet we have for non-adult use has been out-of-order all summer and hopefully will stay that way).... I don't suppose anyone's been telling them Latrine Monster stories, have they? The breakfast routine is kind of bizarre. I haven't dealt with a mess hall anywhere that didn't have specific hours that applied to everyone. Some have kept things like PB&J as well as coffee available around the clock to accomodate people with unusual schedules, but never holding the mess line just because people were not inclined to show up for scheduled meal hours.
