Hiya, Mr. Schooley.
First, very nice of you to drop by. Always GREAT to see ya.
Hmmm... as for MrDrP's mention of a comment you allegedly made, I shall look into this and PM him so we can get a bit of clarification on this.
My ideal for RS is to have the facts as accurate as possible from all concerned. We SHALL get this rectified to everyones' satisfaction.
I DO vaguely remember KIGO fans here and on the Slash board being outraged as to the ending of your show, and expressing themselves somewhat... uhhh vehemently against Ron and Kimmie being together into perpetuity.
BUT... there is now really no way for me to help clarify this sitch, as the old slash forum has been deleted, with the reason for that action unknown to me.
We'll simply wait to see if MrDrP responds in a timely manner.

Last September maetch wrote the following in the Next VIP Chat Session thread: "I'm not bashing anyone here! All I'm saying is that I simply choose not to take the creators words as canon to the show. To me, if it's not in an actual episode, it's not canon."
Bob Schooley quoted maetch and wrote: "I agree. Which is why I'm sorry to say there really isn't one "right" answer to most of these questions. The series belongs to the fans to spin any way they want now."
There was a lot of heated discussion about canon at the time and also about what Graduation implied about the futures of the characters. I recall some very sharp comments being directed towards Mark, Bob, and Steve by some disappointed fans. That Bob offered the above comment reflected an impressive generosity of spirit, given that Disney's Kim Possible was his (along with Mark's) creation. I'm sure he had a preferred ending and suspect that he has his own idea of what happens to Kim, Ron, and the gang after the series wrapped up.
I hope this clears things up.
BTW, in case any of you are either (a) impressed by my encyclopedic memory or (b) concerned about my memorizing posts from last year, the truth is far more prosaic: I used the search function to scan Bob's posts to find the quote in question.

No way, you are a God on this forum.
What, you're not one of the creators?
Just one of us little people?
What? Oh one of THE little people!
WE'RE NOT WORTHY! WE'RE NOT WORTHY! WE'RE NOT WORTHY!

My name is Harrison Smith and I am a high school teacher in PA. I also run a feature film production group with my students. They recently did a fan film live-action version of Kim Possible. It serves as a prequel to the animated series, and how the series came to be. Jim and Tim are pitching the idea of their sister's real life adventures to a Disney executive.
It is a feature length, HD video production with really great effects, acting and a good time. The kids would like to send it to Disney and the creators and I thought coming to this site might be a good place to present the idea.
Would be great to hear back and thanks.
Sincerely,
Harrison Smith

As a Pennsylvanian, I'm curious where the enterprising students are.
My advice (not legal advice, I have no idea how that applies to fan videos) would be to put the project up on youtube if you want it seen by us folks who worked on the show. I don't think actually sending it to Disney would get you anywhere, realistically, since they wouldn't legally be allowed to watch it, I think.

I did just send an e-mail to Mr. Smith expounding those sullen facts, Bob. Went into a little more detail than would be prudent in posting here.

I'm glad the series creators still peek in every so often - it's heartening I'm working on a fan video myself (just got Adobe Premier to fiddle 'round with). Well, it'll be more of a 'closing credits' video to my latest fan story, "KP: A Friend in Darkness", but with plenty of art to back it up... Should be fun!

Sounds great, Slyrr! And it's encouraging to know that the creators of KP keep up with some of the fan media. As for the video by the students, if it was on Youtube, I'd definitely want to watch it.

Cadmus, I think Bob deserves some slack for his comment. The poor guy, along with Mark and Steve, was savaged by some Kigo fans on this and the KPSH forum for the way Graduation ended, effectively putting the ki-bosh on Kigo. I think he thought it was wise to just hand the post-story story over to the fans. I might be wrong on this, but the vibe I got from him answering this is that he didn't want to have to answer anymore continuity questions, so he thought giving "CANON" to the fans was an easy way out of that. That would be fine until one of the "Gods" that created the show said that all off screen material is NOT canon. IMO limiting canon to what happens ON SCREEN limits the LONGEVITY of the show. Also giving ALL CANON to the fans doesn't make an ounce of difference to KP. Because the majority of KP's fans won't care what one random fan thinks the outcome of the characters are. WHY, because that person is just an observer like you and me. Fans will care more about what the VIP's that created KP say, because they are the ones who bring KP to life in a medium that actually means more. They are non-observers. Long story short: the creators opinion holds more weight, than the observers opinion. And with Mark declaring Kim and Ron still are a couple regardless, and Bob declaring OFF Screen=Not Canon. What is the official ruling as far as canon goes? That everything that happens off screen is not canon, except Kim and Ron staying together. Honestly that viewpoint just feels like cherry picking at different creators opinions instead of one complete opinion.

I would add that we have no idea where the creators or writers intend to take the characters. I presume (Bob and Mark, feel free to correct me.) that the writers have to run their scripts past someone, I would expect Bob and Mark, before those scripts are given the go ahead to be made into episodes. I'm sure character continuity is a large part of what goes into that process. 'Would the character do this?' 'Would the character say that?' I'm sure that many of the writers are able to write for the show because they know people that are very much like the characters. They'll write dialogue they've heard the people they know say and Bob and Mark (presumably) say 'Yeah, Kim would do that.' or 'No, Ron would never say that.' or even 'Well, that does sound like something the two of them would do, but I'm not so sure I want them to do that.' Man, what it would be like to be a part of that process! I'm sure they have long term plans for some of the characters and others they just make up as they go. I mean, it's hard to think of any way to develope Motor Ed in any meaningful way, other than comedicly. Some characters really are there just to make us laugh and they do it well. Others, like Ron, they develope in a hundred different ways. It must be incredible to be a part of it.
