I don't know if WGN in Chicago is on cable on the West coast but they had a tribute to the Bozo show. It was on for decades on WGN, the link that RD sent made me think of it.
When I was growing up, we moved a lot as a kid. The first was Barts Club House, the other was Captain Ernie's Cartoon Show boat.
It's a shame that there aren't shows like that anymore. With lots of Three Stooges and Tom and Jerry Cartoons.

I had a great time, Kimron Posstoppable! Both at NYCC and just in and around NYC in general hanging out with a mixture of friends and publishing clients. Did you make it to Cartoon Network's BEN 10: ALIEN FORCE panel Saturday morning? www.cartoonnetwork.com/tv_shows/promotion_landing_page/ben10/ I was pleasantly surprised and impressed by the B10AF signage all over the lobby of the convention center (woot!), not to mention all the promotional giveaway items, Chromastone and Swampfire costumed characters, and even a nearly lifesized statue of the new Ben design on display! Too freakin' cool. What was your favorite part of the convention? ETA: Did you happen to catch my friend Thom Zahler's "Love and Capes" booth in small press? Or pick up one of the Iron Man "Toon Tumbler" glasses he designed? (The official glass of the NYCC. Great stuff!

Dr. Drakken's Girlfriend:I am fine. How are you? Nemo: Of course I would! Me write my name berry goodly. Manda Panda: I'll be at Comic Con in San Diego this July. (I'm there every year.) I don't think I'll have an official table or anything, but if any of you are going to be there, let me know and we can arrange to meet up for autography-ness. My buddy Thom Zahler's www.loveandcapes.com/ (see other gratuitous mention above) booth in the Small Press area is always a good place to leave word for me. (And pick up a free www.loveandcapes.com/ button while you're there! ;D) Meanwhile, if you haven't already, check out the new show I did some writing on, BEN 10: ALIEN FORCE www.cartoonnetwork.com/tv_shows/promotion_landing_page/ben10/ and let me know what you think of it! I don't know when my episodes will be airing. But if I happen to notice one of them coming up on the schedule, I'll post a tune-in notice about it here.

This is really fab news about the show, Charlotte! ;D ;D ;D Please DO keep us posted as to when one of your eps comes up. No spoilers, please, but can you tell us what the name of the Ben 10 ep(s) you wrote is/are? Really looking forward to Saturday!

It sure is! ( Hope this means we'll be getting a 3rd season! 'Cause yay work. Even better, yay work on GOOD shows! ;D Definitely will do. Not sure I'm allowed to release the episode titles out into the world wide web, but I think mine were #'s 14 and 22. Or somewhere thereabouts. Ish. Me too! Both the lunch next Saturday, and THIS Saturday's episode of B10AF. It was one of my favorites--if not my very favorite--back when I read it. Curious to see if it turned out as cool on screen as it played on the page.

So .. out of that $2.25 cover price ... you get? Does it work that you get a cut of sales or did you get paid a set price for your work?

A comic book writer's fee is priced at a per-page rate.
We make the same $ no matter what the cover price or how well it sells or doesn't.

There's an MS Walk coming up in September. This is my childhood friend Lydia's page: main.nationalmssociety.org/site/TR/Walk/VAXWalkEvents?px=1910585&pg=personal&fr_id=9336&s_tafId=62459if anyone feels up to donating any amount large or small. Lyd and I have the same birthday. (March 20th represent!) We were/are both old school Muppet fanatics. When we were kids, she had the Fisher Price Muppet Show puppets and posters from the Muppet Movie.... so naturally I had to have them too! Her dad was my family's dentist. As a dentist's kid, she had the Playdough "Dr. Drill 'n' Fill" set. It was so cool! Anybody else remember playing with that one? Good times, good times. She hasn't been able to walk for years now, but still always participates in her local chapter of the National Multiple Sclerosis Society's annual fundraising "Walk." Cruel irony: The very year we first met as kids, our school took part in this thing called the MS Read-A-Thon. I remember it like it was yesterday. It's the first time I'd ever even heard of MS. Maybe it was the first time she had either. Lydia and I were very competitive. Heh. Our combined final reading lists left the other kids in the dust! Oh, and we raised a bunch of money from our sponsors too. But we were much more concerned with out-reading each other. Who would have ever thought we were raising money for her future self??? Freaky, man.

Just peeking in to thank anyone here who has already anonymously donated to my childhood friend's MS Walk: main.nationalmssociety.org/site/TR/Walk/VAXWalkEvents?px=1910585&pg=personal&fr_id=9336&s_tafId=62459You guys are the best. That's sooo very generous of you to give some of your hard-earned money to an essential stranger. I know she is grateful. I am too. Thank you. Sincerely. It's so uncomfortable begging people for money, but I figure I might as well at least ASK, y'know? People can always ignore it (and that would be fine too). But, well, I thought if everybody I know gave even only $1, it would add up! My friend and I are the exact same age, same day same year. But one of us sure got a raw deal in adult life. The LEAST I can do is help her raise money for her MS "Walk."

Wow. Thank you so much for your donation to my friend, tidus. That was very generous of you to do.
I've been crazy-busy drowning in writing work (glub!) but have been meaning to check in here. Sorry I took so long to thank you, tidus!
BTW: If anyone else is going to be at the Minneapolis comic book convention next weekend (I forget what it's called!), I'll be the one throwing my hat in the air like Mary Tyler Moore. ;D
