Insects and small verman are a continuing threat to local crops and the food supply of the world. However, current chemical pesticides are damaging to the environment. Without using pesticides, describe how you would protect farm crops. Easy. Forcefields.

I assume you're not taking cost effectiveness into account.

It's time for the first quiz. There is only one question and it asks you to think critically as there are multiple correct ways to answer the question. You may answer using any combination of media. If a picture says more than an essay, you may answer in that way or both. Take your time as there is no prize for being first and please answer the following question using the knowledge you've previously gained in your studies: Insects and small verman are a continuing threat to local crops and the food supply of the world. However, current chemical pesticides are damaging to the environment. Without using pesticides, describe how you would protect farm crops.Students in my Natural Sciences course are required to answer. Everyone else may do so at their leisure. Answers may be as short or as long as you'd like. (This question has been created from scratch and is not intended to be Googled easily. You may of course use Google, but it might be easier and quicker to answer on your own.) Ugh, testing us on the internet now... Insects? RATS?! Um, EW?? Farmers... ugh. I'd just go with those electric bug zapper things. Set'em up everywhere and watch the light show. The rats? Ugh. I'd get a lot of those... box trap things, where the rat goes in and can't get out. They can go the longest without cleaning. They don't kill the rat so i'd stick something in there that would.

Yes, Bonnie. Studies don't end when you leave the classroom. Not a terrible answer though.

I assume you're not taking cost effectiveness into account. You don't even know anything about forcefields. I suppose that would work... Ask a simple question get a simple answer.

Perhaps my next quiz will be more complex and abstract so you can't answer as easily Drakken...

Perhaps. As long as it doens't have to do with human interaction I should do pretty well though.

The only thing I can remember from Natural sciences was introducing Ladybugs in to your crops can act as a natural Pesticide for many predators of the crops.

I've never heard of a ladybug eating a rat before...

I'm sure if they were mutated they could.

I was talking about the different bugs. As for rats I'd buy peanut butter and lots of traps!

For the rats, just build a 20cm high fence around the plants which they can't jump over, with some spikes on the top. Should be enough.

Rats can chew through concrete. If there's food there they'll get in.

That's true, and they can also fit into holes the size of quarters.

I still like the Peanut butter and Trap idea. Since I've seen it work.

How many traps would you need though. You'll have to remember that if you can only see one rat there's probably ten more around that you can't see.

True. That's why I'd probably buy around 100 or more. Surround my Crops with those things.
