A good majority of us agree that Ron and James are pretty much similar in mannerisims and other aspects (such as ending up with a redheaded girl).
So it stands to reason that much like Ron was threatened with a deep space probe, James was threatened by Anne's father when they started dating. Which threat do you imagine would be used for James?
In good old Tale Spin style, I'd say firing squad.
