Well, they should gain popularity. They are wonderful sendoffs to every generic team of superheroes out there. Oh yes, that's why I love them! ;D

Well, they should gain popularity. They are wonderful sendoffs to every generic team of superheroes out there. that's true... I saw a huge similarity between them and the Teen Titans. I mean, if the Teen Titans were so successful why wouldn't Team Go be!? Disney's got a gold mine within a gold mine to work with and they're just too stubborn to notice.

Just something I couldn't help but notice, Team Go has seemingly gained a much larger fanbase since their season 4 appearences. Maybe it's my imagination, or hanging out too much with Nemo, but really, humor me for a moment. When Team Go was first introduced in season 2, many fans disliked them, I'd go as far as to say loathed them a little, mainly because they were preceived as annoying. Even one of out VIPs (Charlotte, I believe) mentioned that Team Go wasn't as popular as they'd first thought. During that time, there was a selective few (including myself) who really, truly liked them. It kinda shocked me when the fanbase demanded their return in season 4, and then MBS bring them back in two (three if you count the small cameo in Graduation) episodes, since then, I have seen much more of them in fan fiction and many more people who have shown to like them. So, my wondering is this, did Stop Team Go give Team Go a bit more popularity, or was it always there from the get-go? I think there are a few reasons they have grown in popularity during season four than they did in season two. In Go Team Go they come off as inept, incompetent and inconsequential. The first time we run across Hego he comes across as aloof and oblivious. The fact he hates the naco doesn't help his case out either. The first time we see Mego, he's already lost his powers and we don't know how. He does still have his supersized ego and lack of empathy. Neither of which are endearing traits. The first time we see Wego, they are chained up and we don't know how they got captured, either. Then there's the thing where they finish each other's sentences, which is always annoying. So you have four guys with superpowers who get beat by a feather wearing geriatric whose only superpower is an extremely creepy bird fetish. During the final fight, they do absolutely nothing but hide out in the hole Kim drilled in the floor. I know they don't have they superpowers anymore, but they didn't even try to do anything to help at all. At least Ron provides a distraction for Kim. It's really no wonder most people wrote them off as a joke based on their first appearance. The big difference in Stop Team Go was that we see that they aren't as useless as they originally seemed to be. The annoying traits they had in Go Team Go are watered down a bit. Mego, while still being egotistical, isn't nearly as selfish and self absorbed in Stop Team Go. They also seem to know how to fight, which was missing in Go Team Go. Although, they all made some questionable calls throughout the episode. If Hego hadn't picked up that bag of cement, then Shego wouldn't be able to blast it and provide cover for her getaway. I also question Mego's decision to shrink down before making a tackle. Looks to me like someone wasn't paying attention in Physics class and forgot that Force=Mass*Velocity so when you reduce your mass, you also reduce your force, which is the exact opposite of what you want to do when trying to tackle someone to the ground. I also question the twins decision to go out and rob a buffet while Hego is robbing banks and Mego is stealing jewelery. All in all, they had a nice balance of being funny and being a good superhero team. Another shorter reason, is the smaller fanbase the show had during season two compared to season four. Obviously, with the bigger fan base more people are going to like them than with a smaller fan base. I will admit that I was a fan from the get go, even if everyone of them did irk me in some form or fashion. To be fair, every character on the show irks me in some way, just like every person has irksome qualities.

^ Those are very good points there, Mickey. ;D I think I can understand why a lot of peope found them annoying at the beginning, but I thought their personalities were very unique. I'm glad the creators and the writers went in that direction rather than the stereotypical imitations of The Justice League or any of that, maybe Hego is an exception, but all teams need a leading role- I do particularly like his cheesy incompetence. They add a different edge to the episodes which they appear in, adding to the diverse plots and stories which this awesome show already offers, so there's no doubt they most probably brought fresh fans into this show!

I think Team Go was first protrayed as very one dimentional, very bland characters.
I think the writers did a great job with them in season 4. One thing they always had going for them, is their relationship to Shego.
I liked Team Go, they had prodental, but they still have nothing on the Justice League or the Teen Titans. They are just not as good.

No offence by the name Team Go, they remind me of Team Rocket. Without Shego, they are not that much better than them.

I actually see Team Rocket are more like a very twisted version of Kim, Ron and Rufus or Wade than Team Go.

Yeah, they do actually. And it's funny because Jeese and James always reminded me of Shego and Drakken, who are like darker counterparts to Kim and Ron.

I haven't watched Pokemon in a long time, but I think I recall Team Rocket having some type of a hovercraft?
And as well, their goofy argumentative relationship is very much like Drakken and Shego! ;D

Actully there are quite few "Teams" on Pokemon. The world "Team" is what reminded me of Team Rocket. That is basicly it.
But you notice on Pokemon, there is no unjust punishment. The Team Rocket trio will only "Blast off again", if they cause trouble or do anything villanous in an episode. If they don't do anything villanous, just peaceful sell merchandise at a contest, compete in a contest, get stuck in a mine cave, nothing bad will happen to them. I like the fairness of the writing.
Most shows including KP sometimes, will punish villain characters simply for being villains, even if they don't do anything wrong in that particular episode.
