Just checking in here for a moment... I haven't been around much the last few days... Stupid wisdom teeth and all...
Anyway, I'm thinking it's an issue with the new host's DNS servers or something, so it's been switched back to the old for now.

Okay, I have no idea how long it will take, so in the meantime, kpsite.thescripters.com works. Logins are still there, profiles, avatars, everything. You'll just need to change anything that uses the main domain for right now if you need to use it.

Wow, I've noticed that half the active members don't have their userbars. Hope kpfanworld comes back soon!

Wow, I've noticed that half the active members don't have their userbars. Hope kpfanworld comes back soon! it is strange, we tried to move the site to the new server, after doing so, the domain name stopped working, Adam changed it back to what it was originally, and yet it still is not working.

Big announcement: KP Fan World is back online as it was intended to be. www.kpfanworld.comI'll still be editing files, getting it back exactly how it was.... But it's there. Fully operational on its own domain. EDIT: Finalized logo also uploaded.

Oooh, didn't notice where Rufus was before in the logo before Wow. So what turned out to be the problem that took it down?

the thing that took it down was us trying to move over to the a new server. however, in trying to move over, we need to move the domain as well. it seemed that the new server might not have been configured properly, and as a result, caused the web site to not work. I had to re-enable the domain checking as well as change the <base> tag.other than that, nothing had to change...

Note on hosting: We got 5 GB of space w/ unlimited bandwidth for ~$44/yr. That's enough space to do quite a few videos, but not enough to integrate the screencaps. Much as I'd like to, that's just not going to happen on that plan. However, I did come across this one the other day....
50 GB space, 999 GB transfer -- $6.95/mo or $83.40/yr Again, their connection is just a tad slower... But the new host we were going with might be, too. And it'd only be the 3-11 MBps cable users who would notice, really... I've got ~1.5 MBps and I can max out my download speed on it... If we went that route, we'd need to almost double the donations we got.
But I'll leave it all up to you. We can do quite a bit with 5 GB. Just that the screencaps will need to continue on SDA. And that's not a problem. Just a little more cumbersome to work with that way.

the 50 gig plan sounds sweet
however, about the screen caps, it would be easy to transfer over, but all the pictures currently hot linked off my site would no longer work, and there are lots of them. I have been debating about paying for a domain or something that would allow me to transfer in the future without any problems. but once again, even if i do that, and transfered over, many posted pictures would cease to function.
and about the fund raising, i think it would be best to make a new thread, it seems like doing so gets more attention.

Interesting isn't it?
In my opinion, combining the two would have added benefits that would (in my opinion) outweigh the negatives of losing the hotlinked images.
But, I think I can get it to do it right with one of those .htaccess files.

if it would work (somehow getting the currently hot linked files to continue to work), that would be super, plus, since i pay $15 every 4 months for the current screen caps hosting, i can send that to KPFW, which would be $45 for the year, meaning the cost of getting the 50 gigs might not be that hard. however, i have currently paid up through February with savedisneyanimation, so there is no need to move the site until then

Are there going to be any more characters added to the character guide? Or are we done until further notice?

well....which other characters do you think we should add. we can add as many characters as needed (or as long as their info can be filled in)

Drako made an excellent list on page 27 of the ask the vip thread. Just pick a few and let's do it. I know some characters may not have much info to tell about. But a little bit of something is better than nothing.
