You see some times I don't have time to finish them so I'm curious if I should write one or not I'm thinking a Barkin/Shego one....Or a Ron Fan Fiction. What do you think?

If you're not gonna finish it, then no.

You're only going to write it if you love the idea and want to bring it through to completition. Asking a question like this tells me otherwise.
Use the saved time to work on something you really want to do and will jump into head on. You'll know what that is better than us.

Commitment, passion - all needed to bring a good fanfic to fruition. I'm a supporter of being creative, though. So if writing makes you feel good, do it. But don't do it if you feel obligated to finish it.

Do you have an idea for a plot beyond a couple? That's where you need to begin.

Hmm maybe I'll make an Ed, Edd n Eddy/Kim Possible crossover. I know the characters from each show so well. It will just take me a bit to finish the fan fiction is all.

The question here really here is 'should you', but 'could you'?
Part of doing a story is knowing your material and having time to do it.

Go ahead and try to write something, especially if this is your first time. Even if you aren't able to finish it, any chance at writing you get is great practice.

Don't worry about whether or not you'll finish it. I used to do that and I felt it compromised my writing because I was so worry I'd write myself into a corner (not to say that that hasn't happened but that's not the point)
If you've got a good idea, bring it to life! There is no deadline that you have to finish a fanfiction by (unless it's an entry into a contest, but that's a different story altogether!). I mean, I've worked on fanfictions as little as 1 day (short, one-shots) or as long as 8 months and even one, a year and a half!
But ultimately, it's your call.

I'm against not finishing something because I believe it's a writer's duty to finish it, unless it hasn't been posted somewhere yet. And, yeah, like Quin, I've worked on fics as little as a day (sometimes a few hours), and my longest being about 3 weeks.

My view on this... if you have an idea, why not try expressing it? Don't fret about not being able to finish it, otherwise you'll probably end up doing what I did 'bout 9 months ago... stopping altogether. If you can write without the worry of criticism or prematurely ending the storyline, you will succeed in writing. And I spend months and months on half of my stuff. Sigh. Well, at least you can finish it. I've barely been able to keep my stuff going... and yet here I am, writing chapter nine of a story that's been ongoing for almost two years after taking a huge break from even thinking about it.
