I'm a little rusty on insulting people who aren't Bluetards, or Grif. Fair enough. I'll let it slide this time.

You prefer the upbeat Frank Sinatra songs or the slower, more laid back songs?

haha, well I'm not a big Sinatra fan. I've only ever heard 'My Way' and 'New York, New York', but I do like them both a lot. I guess 'New York, New York' is more upbeat while 'My Way' is more slow. ANyway, yes, I enjoy them both.

Which do you prefer: summer or winter?

Winter. In the summer I get uncomfortably hot very easily. It's been like that for me ever since I was a toddler.

I like our spring, fall and winter, but not our summer. We didn't have A/C in the house where I grew up, and I remember being just miserable for pretty much all of July and August. My mom likes the hot weather...she almost never runs her AC, even now. I don't know how she stands it.

I like fall too, and spring. That's when the temprature is usually at its best for me. I like fall a little better though, as spring brings allergies.

I like spring better because here, fall brings spiders, and I despise spiders. (Shudders) Wow, I just looked outside and it's snowing here. For the second time in a year. There's almost an inch of snow on the ground. How's the weather there?

Wow, I just looked outside and it's snowing here. For the second time in a year. There's almost an inch of snow on the ground. How's the weather there? Freakishly cold. it's only been snowing in short periods of time, like once every two or three days (nights actually), but the amount of snow is unbelievable.

I like most animals...I'm not one of those silly girls who's scared of mice or anything. But spiders are like some sort of alien life form...and not the kind that comes in peace. Last week we had our little snow, and this week it's 70 degrees F. Weird! What's your favorite animal?

Of the animals alive today: The Great White Shark.
And of the extinct ones: Tyrannosaurus rex.
I have a thing for Apex predators. I don't know why. Maybe because whenever you see a shark/tiger/crocodile, even if it's just on TV, you immediately get the feeling this is a majestic animal that demands your respect and awe.

Of the animals alive today: The Great White Shark. And of the extinct ones: Tyrannosaurus rex. My youngest daughter loves sharks, especially the Great White. She's always been fascinated by them. She wants to swim with sharks - you know - in the cage. Not when she's grown up. Now. She is absolutely fearless. I have a thing for Apex predators. I don't know why. Maybe because whenever you see a shark/tiger/crocodile, even if it's just on TV, you immediately get the feeling this is a majestic animal that demands your respect and awe. Indeed you do. And the knowledge that it is dangerous, and could easily eat you...unless you eat it first. Shark is actually quite delicious.

My admiration for sharks prevent me from wanting to try shark meat. Besides, most sharks are perfectly harmless to humans. Heck, more people are mauled to death by their own pet dog, stung to death by bees or hit by lightning each year than killed by sharks.
Sorry, I'm trying not to preach here. I realize you probably know all of this already. I'm just appalled of the way the Japanese go about catching sharks for their shark fin soups, and saddened by the fact that most sharks are endangered.

I completely understand that. For years I couldn't eat chicken because as a child on the farm, my grandpa always let me pick a couple of the baby chicks to raise as pets. I carried them around and played with them and they lived long happy lives laying eggs. Yes, I had pet chickens. Go ahead, make jokes. I tried being a vegetarian for about a year when I was younger. I didn't have the commitment to stick with it, especially since everyone else in my family ate meat, and, honestly, I like meat. I've gotten over the chicken thing now, but I still prefer my chicken in the bland, unrecognizable 'boneless, skinless chicken breast' version. As for the shark meat that's sold here, it's not really hunted. It's only sold on the coast and has mostly been caught by accident, or by some sport-fishing tourist who realizes after catching it that he has no idea what to do with it. The fish market sells it; otherwise it would simply be...I don't know...thrown away, and that seems even worse than eating it. They aren't allowed to sell the endangered species, so that's good. It's also illegal (at least in SC) to fish for sharks off any pier, so that cuts down on the 'uninformed tourists catching sharks' problem. New topic: What's your favorite TV show right now? And I know most sharks are harmless. I think Jaws is what made a lot of people have an inordinate fear of sharks.

New topic: What's your favorite TV show right now? Well I haven't watched a lot o TV lately. If I like I series I see on television I try getting it on DVD. But anyway, my favourite TV show right now would have to be Stargate: SG-1. I've just finished watching the ninth season. My favourite seasons are 5-8 though, as I wasn't a big fan of Apophis (the main bad guy of seasons 1-4) and I'm not completely happy about the direction the series has taken with the ninth season. I'm also interested in the new animated Star Wars series. I haven't been able to catch any episodes yet, so I'll just have to wait until that comes out on DVD as well. But hey, that means extra binus features so... And I know most sharks are harmless. I think Jaws is what made a lot of people have an inordinate fear of sharks. Yes. The writer of the novel the film is based on has even said himself he'd never write the book if he knew what he knows now , both about sharks and how people reacted to the film. Great Whites have especially gotten the raw end of the deal.
