I've got some ideas on making my own videos, but the problem is that I lack the necessary programs.
Does anyone have any good recommendations on what programs are not only useful, but easy to use? I don't know when I can get started on my ideas, but I like to get them up and running soon. But, like I said, I need the proper equipment for that.
Thanks in advance.

I hear a lot of people use Windows Movie Maker. Okay. Question is though, can I buy it or get it from a download? I've downloaded enough junk on my computer here that I've often caught a few viruses (and had them deleted promptly). I don't want that to happen with this.

I dunno...WMM hates me. It crashes every five seconds, on both of our computers, despite software updates. It might serve your needs, but I've had nothing but bad experiences with the thing.

Thanks for the links, nabu. I just hope I can get some nice tutorials *hint, hint*. Oh, and Snap, I certainly hope it doesn't crash on me.

Windows Movie Maker is a bad piece of software to use for video editing. I tend to like Adobe After Effects and Ulead DVD Studio, but I don't dare run them on anything that doesn't have a dual core processor with 1 GB of ram. That is just asking for a System Crash!

I don't know if my computer has those properties. Probably not, so I don't know if those programs will work properly. Any idea how much those software cost? Cause if Adobe and Ulead are anything like Photoshop, I'm afraid I wouldn't have the Naco Roalties to get those programs.

Adobe After effects is in or above the photoshop zone, and Ulead is in a similar place. My usual advice on finding low cost alternatives is to check out sourceforge.net/, though I'm not familiar enough to recomend any open source video editors.

I want to make some Phil and Keely videos because My taste of music is more expanded then a lot of Pheely fans so i have song ideas a lot of people would never think to use. I may try Windows Movie Maker.
