Hi All, lord_victorino's Medical Sitch. I have been diagnosed with Degenerative Arthritis in my right ankle. In other words my ankle joint is worn out and my ankle bones are rubbing against each other, which is causing the bones to micro-fracture and build new bone in place it should not be in the form of calcium deposits. These deposits are eating away my ankle joints. Needless to say it is causing me a lot of pain. As of today, July 28th, 2008, the Doctor has put my ankle in a cast to stop the damage. After about three weeks they will take off the cast and see how my ankle is. I may still need major surgery to fix the problem. Which would mean my ankle bones being scraped and the extra calcium deposits taken out, my ankle bones fused together, and plates and pins put in. Which could put me out from 4 to 6 Months. Needless to say, I am in a funk and it's not a good look for me. Since I concider the people here as family, I just thougt I would let you all know. I will continue to let you know how I am doing. Please and Thank You, Tony M. Victorino

Hi All,
Just wanted to update you on my Medical Sitch.
They took off my first Cast and X-Rayed my ankle. The Good News is that two areas of my ankle have healed up nicly. The one area on the top of the ankle still has not healed well enough. So, they put a second cast on my ankle for another 4 weeks. Because of the two areas of the ankle healing up, that it might be possible that I may not need surgery or just minimal surgery. And may get away with just wearing a Brace on my ankle. But complete ankle surgery is still not completely off the table. For it is possible that the brace may not completely work. And major ankle surgery may still be needed. Only time will tell.
Please and Thank You,
Tony M. Victorino

Even though I said this at ACC already...
It's good to know that some of your ankle has healed, Tony.
I am hoping you get better more, sir.

As someone who's going through some serious medical-hospital drama myself, it's good to know that you're making some progress in taking care of your ankle. I hope that the recovery will be a quick one for you, Tony.

Hi All, I went back to the Doctors today and got my second cast off. My Ankle is looking and feeeling much better. They now put me in a Walking Cast,. which is one that I can take off and put on with velcro straps. I need to wear it most of the time, outside of washing my feet and leg and/or showering. I have been taken off of having to stay completely off my right ankle, to now being able to walk on it with help of Crutches or a Cane. But still limiting my activity on it. My Doctor has decided to go the route of having a form fitting brace for my ankle instead of having an operation. But if the brace is unable to control my Degeneritive Arthrisist and my Ankle get worst once again, I may still need surgery. This brace might just do the job. I sure hope so. I need to go back to the Doctor and have my ankle and leg casted for the brace. Then the mold will be sent to a company that will make my brace. I will then go back and have it fitted. Inwhich after putting it on, I will be able to put back on my shoes and be able to walk. The brace will take some of the pressure off my ankle and redestibute it up my leg. If all goes well, I should be back to work between 4 to 6 weeks. Just wanted to let you all know. Please and Thank You, Tony M. Victorino

Hi All,
Some more Good News. My ankle has healed as much as it can. And I have gotten my Ankle Brace. I am doing some minor walking to test out the Ankle Brace and if all goes well, I should be back to work sometime next week.
Please and Thank You,
