Ron dramatically gives his life to save Kim, but wakes up alone... on a street corner… in our world. With nothing but the clothes he died in on his back and the power of imagination, can he learn to cope in a world with no super heroes, Bueno Nachos, or happily ever afters? This is pretty much uncharted territory for me, so continuation of this story may depend on the feedback received. Unlike "And I Escaped!", I did not finish writing this prior to its posting. The plot bunny tore at me until I wrote what's happened so far (man, those things have sharp teeth!). I have a tiny bit more to post, but I would really appreciate plot ideas although I have the general direction of the story, as well as the ending, in mind. This takes place about five years (give or take) after "Graduation"- Kim and Ron are married, but are still young and have not yet had children. www.fanfiction.net/s/4471204/1/I_Think_Some_Serious_Physics_Just_Happened

The second chapter is written; I'll post it in a few days.
Update: I'm already working on the third! Woo, I am on a roll today! Caffeine does a writing body good! ;D

Oh, wow. I'll have to check this out. I had a vague idea for a story where Kim, Ron, Drakken and Shego are pulled into the real world, starting out without any legal identity or anything to help but each other, and half of them don't even trust the other half. Years go by, they never get home and build new lives and fortunes from resourcefulness, entrepreneurship and eventually reverse-engineering Kim's mission gear.

I'm kinda proud of this so far. My strategy is to update when my story leaves the front page, therefore giving it maximum visibility and roping in more readers. Bwahaha! ...Hopefully, anyway.

I just uploaded Chapter 2! I notice a severe lack of reviewers... However, my afore mentioned evil plan seems to have worked; I got a whopping 2 more reviews!

I finished writing Chapter 3 today...
Why do I feel like whenever I post here I'm talking (writing?) to myself?

I haven't reviewed because...I'm a failure as a human being.
Really, it's because I'm never sure what I should say. Chapter one was an interesting setup with a world of potential. I liked the view from Ron's head, it was in character and very dramatic.
I'll read the rest, and promise to review soon.

(dances a little happy dance) The fact that you replied to my posts here makes me very happy, as much as any review. I sincerely doubt that you're a "failure as a human being", even if you stayed silent. Thanks for showing everyone that, contrary to what is probably popular belief, I'm not just blowing air on this thread. Thankee again!

You might find the TV Tropes entry Welcome To The Real World interesting, as it's about the kind of plot you're writing.

[/quote] Well, I figured you were joking. I'll check that out, but TV Tropes seems to suck me in- too many links and such to keep me hopping around articles! It's kind of overwhelming, but by your name and signature I can see that you like it. Edit: Well, that wasn't too bad; I ended up reading only two articles and watching four minutes of "Darkwing Duck" saying his catchphrase over and over. Thanks for the link; I did like reading the article. I know the "character(s)-coming-to-our-world" idea is a slightly overused plot device in fanfics, but I did add one twist that I'll expand on ( WARNING: Possible spoiler ahead!): Ron really is dead. The death ray wasn't some malfunctioning Pan-Dimensional Vortex Inducer or some such. Ron really "died". But he's a fictional character, so when he died, it wasn't quite "Heaven or Hell". He was real to himself, so he soon became officially real in our world, and will have to continue to be there until he really dies, for good. I know it's a weird idea, that all fictional characters become real when they die prematurely (I haven't decided about if they die of old age), but I've read weirder. *coughSpudkkencough*

Chapter 4 is written and waiting in line to be uploaded! Despite me updating only once every few days, I really AM writing these during the break. And I have been getting more reviews and gotten put on 3 Story Alerts so far!

Chapter 3 is up! Edit: Chapter 5 is written and in line to be uploaded. It's shorter, but I felt that was justified here. I like writing whenever I finish a chapter so you readers (both of you) won't give up hope that I'll update; honestly, I wish I could update every day, but then this would be over way too soon! Or if I hit a writer's block, I'll have a few days to work through it before someone grabs their torch and pitchfork.

Really good stuff. I've reviewed the first chapter (I have a different name on FF.net.) Love the interactions between Ron and "not-Fred" in the second and third.

Thanks. I'm going to take a wild guess at your identity and go with... " RedBlueGreen"?
As for the-man-who-isn't-Fred, I tried to think how Ron might (or at least allow for his humorous and eccentric personality). In Not-Fred's perspective, how would you feel if you were working the counter at a Taco Bell at midnight or so without a college education? No career to look forward to, seemingly no social life outside work (barring his ex-girlfriend), and this hobo-looking guy missing his pants comes in and asks you for a freebie. Not-Fred might have kicked him out then and there had he not been lacking in social interactions that day. I'd feel kinda sorry for him if he weren't so funny! But hey, we might see him again later- hopefully in a cheerier context.

Hey, I finally sat down and pounded out Chapter 6! Edit: I just uploaded Chapter 4. Read it and weep... with joy! (No, really. Please. My ego demands it.)

I finished Chapter 7. And I feel the need to tell you now that we will, for certain, be seeing more of Not-Fred soon... Edit: Woah, I'm a little late on updating. Sorry. Chapter 5, "Wikipedia and Fiction", is up now.

Fun story and a great idea for Ron to be in! Great work! More, MORE!!! Gasp! A mod is reading? The pressure's on, now... Thanks for commenting, RD! In response to the review signed "RD", I say: Thanks for the review! Hmm, I thought the titanium bomb was real, unless my brain substituted "titanium" for "uranium". Let me check... "Pure metallic titanium (99.9%) was first prepared in 1910 by Matthew A. Hunter by heating TiCl4 with sodium in a steel bomb at 700–800 °C in the Hunter process." -Wikipedia "Isolation of the pure metal was not demonstrated until 1910 when Matthew Hunter and his associates reacted titanium tetrachloride with sodium in a heated steel bomb. " -Answers.com I think those are called titanium bombs, but I could easily be wrong.

I just uploaded Chapter 6, thanks to a reviewer's mental projections compelling me to do so. Now I'm behind! I have to go write more! Edit: Just finished Chapter 8. Shorter than normal (around 800 words), but major character development. Cry-fests galore!

I'm sorry I didn't reply to your post quicker (as in the same week.) Terrible human being. Thanks. I'm going to take a wild guess at your identity and go with... " RedBlueGreen"? Bah, my secret is out. Thanks for reviewing The Monster. Have you had a look at my other fics? As for the-man-who-isn't-Fred, I tried to think how Ron might (or at least allow for his humorous and eccentric personality). In Not-Fred's perspective, how would you feel if you were working the counter at a Taco Bell at midnight or so without a college education? No career to look forward to, seemingly no social life outside work (barring his ex-girlfriend), and this hobo-looking guy missing his pants comes in and asks you for a freebie. Well, he can't have been looking forward to that washing up, so he and the friendly, apparently harmless nutcase can help each other out. Great fun. I'll review the other chapters soon. Keep up the good work!
