After reading the Recomend me a FanFic thread and reading what most of us writers have to say in regard to others fics it got me thinking. What do you, the fanfic writers find to be your own personal favorite story you've written? And which one did you write that you think didn't get the attention it deserved. Hence it's kind of a self promotion of sorts since you'll be listing the stories themselves. Although this is more of a discussion than random promotions of your work. I'm looking foward to this... (I'm not going to start out though, I'll let someone else start it off, I'm lousy at starting things off like this.)

Surprisingly one fic that's I think didn't get the attention I thought it deserved was 'The Car comes to Middleton, and its sequel 'The Car strikes back' www.fanfiction.net/s/2637936/1/KP_The_Car_Comes_to_Middletonwww.fanfiction.net/s/2687715/1/KP_The_Cars_Strike_BackAlways thought they'd be more popular than they were. Surprisingly as I've found out 'Horror's of War is a lot of peoples favorites, and I never expected that. I also thought my 'The Way of the Badge' never got the attention it deserved, but since I started re-writing it with a new name, I'm very glad at how it's been accepted. Can't comment on my Mafialand though, haven't really gotten into that. Ok, who else?

Its a tough call... In short fics... Probably Escapism about Shego on her motorcycle just unwinding. Longer stuff... Easily "The Darkness Without" (not linkable here due to graphic violence) While Blonde Moment is by far more popular both amongst Kigo and the larger community, TDW is where I managed to weave out eight OC's, plus follow Ron and Monique, Shego on her own, Kim's alter-ego Sara Smith and Bonnie, and the rest, and keep it all spinning in a balanced manner with interlaced plots.

Oh, hey, YFWE, I think that's on my favorites. Didn't it win something? *checks his title* Yep.

I don't know if this will count or not because it isn't a KP fic. But a few years ago I wrote this parody called "A Syllabus of Comedies" for the Rescue Ranger fandom (now available at ff.net). It was a three-parter in which I parodied three different kinds of story in which obsolete English was used (Kipling's Jungle Books, Robin Hood, and early American Quakers). My favorite part is the first part (the "Jungle Book" parody). I put a great deal of effort into it and actually tried to parody the plots of "Tiger! Tiger!" and "Kaa's Hunting," but only one person in the RR fandom seemed to appreciate it because (apparently) she had read Kipling and understood the parody.
The two other parts aren't quite as good, but I'm still proud of them. Yet that story languished online with barely a comment, and even now on ff.net it has only one review.
As for KP stories, I suppose my ongoing "Ned" story ("No Man Knows My Story") is my favorite among them--and it's just been updated!
Thanks for the opportunity to blow my own horn. There are so man wonderful, gifted writers in the KP fandom, and I've ready many of their works (though probably no where near as many yet as most members of this forum have). Though I'm a late-comer here and relatively inactive, I still wish more people would take a look at my poor efforts. It's not that I wouldn't write if I didn't get feedback (sometimes the idea just has to come out), but it's very discouraging to work hard on a story and have it ignored.

The only 3 stories I've written that have gone 6 months without me thinking they're crap by the end of that period- 1- Anytime Shego's Away. A Drakken/Shego songfic. 2- Inner Machinations of a Controlled Mind. A sophisticated inner dialogue and POV piece of KP during Twin Factor. 3- I am Phantom. A DP AU in which the events of I am Legend occur. Starring Danny (sorta) and Vlad, but not in THAT way.

Honestly, I think my KP fics are some of the best writing I've done in my nearly 15 years of fic writing. But if I have to choose my top three... The Hyde Factor: www.fanfiction.net/s/3710047/1/The_Hyde_FactorWhile still in progress (and yes I'm still working on it, I just need some actual time to get on the computer for longer than ten minutes at a time to transcribe my handwritten work), people seem to like it quite a bit, although trying to keep Faye Morgan from taking center stage completely is proving to be increasingly difficult. Necessary Evil: The Middleton Cell: www.fanfiction.net/s/3194711/1/Necessary_Evil_The_Middleton_CellAlso in progress. The main reason I like this one is because I primarily watch KP for the villains and this story allows me to figure out interactions between villains who never actually interacted in the series...as werll as force them into the really unlikely role of the good...or rather less-bad...guys. And finally, my only completed Kim fic, which was also my first: Timebreaker: www.fanfiction.net/s/2964032/1/TimebreakerOrignally meant to be my only KP fic, it opened the door to other ideas and still has what I thinkis a perfect blend of a darker plot with the same humor as the series. If there was ever a fic of mine that I wanted fan art for, it's this one. --Erin M.

I've done three. One was a drabble-based thing, the other just a quick thing I hammered out in a couple of hours because I was dead-bored, but the third one is the one that people like: www.fanfiction.net/s/3798330/1/No_Longer_Going_it_AloneI never expected to get more than a couple of reviews/faves/etc. but the response was much better than I expected once I started updating it.

Seeing as I've only written two KP fanfics to date, it's kind of hard to say if one's better than the other. Change of Pace: www.fanfiction.net/s/3783818/1/Change_of_PaceDon't Stop the Music: www.fanfiction.net/s/4480909/1/Dont_Stop_the_MusicCoP got more reviews than DStM, but to be honest I had more fun writing DStM than I did CoP, if only because it was written under a time limit while listening to ten different songs back to back, so my creative juices were really flowing and it felt great.

I've probably put the most work and thought into "Osama's Last Stand." www.fanfiction.net/s/2381261/1/Osamas_Last_StandThe hitcount is low in comparison to the story size (3,200-ish hits to 121,000 words) but I'm trying not to focus too much on just the stats. I liked writing it, and it feels good to see it in 'print,' that's what it really comes down to it in end.
