www.fanfiction.net/s/4976313/1/Day_OffIn this piece of fanfiction we see that KP's motives for superherodom are not as innocent and altruistic as we have come to believe. WARNING: not for the squeamish.

Not a fan of that. The subject simply does not fit the show... to imply that it could would be a stretch indeed. To me, it seemed like the author just wanted to write a story concerning sadism and just applied it to KP for some odd reason.
On the other hand, I suppose taking such risks can be beneficial. Some people will like this, it's the nature of FFnet anymore--you have to really wow people with stories that sort of deviate from the norm in order to get a lot of attention. I foresee it becoming incredibly popular.
Moreover (and this is not in relation to the nature of the story), I don't like how it's set up, especially the dialogue. Upon further review, I found that the author is Russian... guess that means her first language is not English. That makes sense.
To me it simply seemed like a reach to the Saw community of these days that enjoy explicit violence and all-around disgusting situations like this. It could have been okay, but for me, if I am reading a fanfic and I can barely even recognize the main character, it just doesn't do it for me. Does Kim have a dark side? Sure, yes, I think so. But not this dark. This just takes that to a whole new level.
Not a favorite by any means.

The story and rationalization strike me as profoundly unlikely, given what has been shown in the series and movies.

I think it's just a bad story. I can barely get past the bad layout and spelling/grammar. Could use an editor.

I think there's actually a hint off truth in Kim being a bit of a sadist. Certain episodes do show she has a tendancy to pull this...Return to Wannaweep especially shows that she is capeable of this. But certainly not on the levels this fic makes out.

I cut and pasted it into OpenOffice and have been doing some proofing and editing of the story. Hard work indeed. Alice Shade has written milder fanfics for Chip 'n Dale Rescue Rangers, which I understand is popular in Russia. I'm taken by the story since the writer is female, and extreme action/crime fiction is more of a male domain. Of course, here in the KP universe we have Love Robin and Absentialuci who can do blood 'n guts as well as any guy, and I'm sure that there are others.
