Hi All, I just got back from a Special Screening of the Princess and The Frog. And I must say that it looks like Disney Finally got it Right! This 2D, Hand Drawn, Animated, Musical, is an Instant Classic. And, IMO, Ranks up there with some of the Original Disney Animated Classics of All Time. ;D I Loved everything about this Movie, from the Animation, to the Characters, the Story and the Music all work beautifully together. I can find no fault with this Movie. A Lovely Twist on a Classic Fairy Tale. Not to give too much away, but there is even a Death of one of the Good Characters in the Movie. Which in most Disney Movies would be Taboo... Needless to say, "This Movie is a MUST SEE!!!". ;D Please and Thank You, Tony M. Victorino

Finally got the opportunity to get off work and see this today, and I agree--great movie! I'm very glad to see Disney turning out high-quality animation again, especially in this case with a 2D movie. The voice acting was fantastic as well... personally think Jennifer Cody was a great find and should be a force to be reckoned with in the future. For me, this movie wasn't exactly up to the highs of recent Disney animation such as The Lion King and Beauty and the Beast, but I think they're on the right track. The music was quite good as well (I've always enjoyed Randy Newman's work anyway), though unfortunately I don't think it was exactly up to some of the higher standards of past movies either... I mean, to be honest, I can't see kids singing along on a long car ride with any of those songs. But they were still great... loved the Dirty Dozen Brass Band in there too.
All in all, I agree: this is a must-see, especially if you're a Disney fan or an animation fan (or both!).

I managed to go see it earlier this month with my friends; it's the first Disney movie I've seen in the theatre since PoTC: At World's End, and it was well worth the trip! My friends and I were laughing, crying, and smiling all the way through! And it takes a lot to impress us Disney-wise these days. In addition to the lovely animation and great story, I was very impressed by how well they capture the spirit of New Orleans, and being someone who's practically grown up in The Big Easy, I love seeing it portrayed correctly, right down to the accents and the musical style (which may not be as classic Disney as that of The Little Mermaid or Lion King scores, but I bought the soundtrack anyhow ). It has a true New Orleans feel to it. The story itself is inspiring and beautiful, and Tiana is possibly the coolest Disney girl since Mulan and Captain Amelia ( Treasure Planet). The ending is the best part, and breaks away yet again from classic Disney by making it an ending that feels a little bittersweet. I like the change! Overall, if you haven't seen this one yet, it is a must-watch! Whether you're five or twenty-five, it's a sure-fire winner of hearts! ;D

I Saw the Princess and the Frog earlier this month as well, and I agree, this is Disney's best work in a looong time. To be honest, I was getting tired of the "cute" sidekick characters like Pumba from Lion King or Chip from Beauty and the Beast. They annoyed me quite a bit, and were useless to the plot development. In this movie however, they were essential to getting from point A to Point B, and actually had an endearing personality. I will not say more so as not to spoil the plot, but I Highly recommend this film. Finally a film where the villian is evil, and not an over charasmitic ham.

Really great movie... I went to a really late night showing of it, so the theater would be empty and no one would be there to be bothered by my 1 year old son running all over the place or crying. He ended up falling asleep on my lap. Great animation and characters. I'm glad they got back to making a movie in that classic Disney style we all love. The soundtrack was both unique and great and I loved all the songs even though they aren't really the sing-along type. This is the best Disney movie since Mulan, and definitely one of the classics that people will still enjoy decades from now. It's been a long time since I've seen a movie so good that I immediately wish I could watch it again, and this movie is that awesome

I'd give it a 3/5 if I had to score it. Leading girl was FAB. But the Prince didn't have enough charisma for me, and I barely sympathised with him throughout the film. And I didn't think the villain was great, either. Superb supporting cast, though! Loved the alligator and the glowing bug thingy.

I go along with Nabu...Dr. Facilier didn't come across as all that dangerous and Prince What's-His-Name was a bit too blah. Usually I go more than once to see a Disney animated film but didn't feel like it this time.

Yeah definitely one of those one-shot movies I won't see again. I'd rather see Chicken Little [eek!]

The DVD and Blu-Ray have been out for awhile. Did anyone else buy it? I bought it on Blu-ray, and I love this movie more each time I watch it. I've watched it about 4 or 5 times.
At first, I didn't like the Prince character at all. But now that I've seen the movie a few times, I realize he's exactly what Tiana needed, and she's exactly what he needed to make a change for the better in both their lives. She's a workaholic, and he's a lazy guy who just wants to have fun. In the end, she teaches him the value of work and responsibility, and he teaches her to dance and enjoy life. Only together they discover that the most important thing in life isn't money, but it's love. It's really a nice story.

It's really a Great Movie. I Love the Extras in Discs, as well. The behind the scenes stuff is always cool to check out. Please and Thank You, Tony M. Victorino
