I loved this movie! Definitely a perfect score from me. Great action, funny, and a good story. I'm gonna go see it again in a couple days. The weird thing was when I walked out of the theater at about midnight there was a GMC Pickup, just like Ironhide, sitting outside. GREAT movie ;D! I want to see this movie, simply because it looked awesome. I have a few questions before I see it, because I've never been a Transformers fan. 1. Is Megatron the main villain? 2. Is Optimus Prime the good guy/robot? 3. In the trailer, there is a robot that comes out of a pool in front of this little girl, which is Transformer is that? 1. Yes 2.Yes 3. Ironhide

Well I made it back from theater half an hour ago, and man.... To say I got my money's worth would be an understatment.... Alright enough lead up...This MOVIE KICKED A$#!!! Not mediocre ass....IT KICKED A#@!!!! The type of arse that needs censoring when I type. And no people...this not a special effects awe-inspiring but with zero plot film, and zlitch character development. No!! ...hell no!! Heck, the humans in this film did something never seen before in Transformer history.....THEY ACTUALLY MEANT SOMETHING TO THE STORY!!! ...AND actually kicked Decepticon ass!! Shia LaBeouf aka...Even Stevens for those who do know his name. Shia did a very good job in this one. Heck, he is very good actor. As the rest of human cast (Jon Voight, Tyresse, etc) they all brought it and delieved. Jon Voight is the greatest Secretary of Defense in fiction, EVER!!! Onto the robots.... All looked....darnit they brought Transformers to life...and did it FLAWLESSLY!! Bubblebee was gold, yet, Optimus was just Outstanding!!! All of the Autobots shined and had more face time then the Decepticons. Starcream OWNED it during one of the last few action sequences in the end. Transforming back and forth while in the middle of a dogfight between F-16s. Actually he was just playingwith them, more so than actually fighting them seriously. But the transformation sequences were just flat out....The Special FX crew were just riduclous with showing off their skills. To wrap this up....Spidey 3 has been rightfully de-throned as my #1 movie this summer. Transformers earns 10/10 from me.

The movie is the greatest of the year. I absolutely loved it. It was funny, it had some really awesome battle scenes, it was just... amazing. 10/10.
After I saw it yesterday I went to Wal-Mart and picked up a Barricade action figure. I already have Bumblebee ('74 Camaro) and Optimus Prime. I also have Ultimate Bumblebee pre-ordered.

Nice. Was I the only one who thought Optimus sounded like the announcer from Voltron or those DBZ commercials? That's because it's the same guy. Peter Cullen did the voice of the announcer for Voltron and he does stuff for Toonami, as well as Optimus.

This is one of the four/five movies that other than the three I had planned to see this summer, I kind of wanted to see. Is it worth it? I'm a bit turned off by Michael Bay's name in front of the movie "A Michael Bay film TRANSFORMERS"

Just saw it today and I have to say I was impressed I was expecting explosion after explosion and no story but I was pleasantly surprised that there was a story. The special effects were some of the best I've ever seen, all in all it was a great movie. It had action it had comedy and just enough story. Though as great as Transformers was I'm now interested in the untitled trailer that played before it I don't know if any of you saw it but it looked pretty interesting.
.PS. Comrade_Chin the plane with the 105mm cannons is an AC-130 Spectra-Gunship

Take raw, untampered with essence of awesome, add it to a can of whoop ass, and shake well. The result with either be a supernova or this movie! As a transfan, I was thoroughly pleased with this movie. Plenty of references to the original series (Prime's arm sword and Megatron's mace for example) and great to see the G1 cast again. Little disappointed that Blaster and Perceptor didn't make the cut though. Jazz's character has made a (mostly) successful transition from 80/90's cool to new millennium cool. Classic Prime quotes, too! "Freedom is the right of all sentient beings!" "At the end of this day, one shall stand, one shall fall." Video of this quote in the original series. The Decepticon front didn't do as good as it could have, but it was great too. Megatron's in all his evil glory. Starscream's limited line and characterization was a crime, but his exchange between Megatron was still enough to hint at his G1 rebel routes. Barricade, an evil cop car with ''To Punish and Enslave" written on the side of it, plus the Decepticon insignia as the shield? Genius. Devastator makes his name sake proud. As a movie goer, the teen relationship subplot was great. Though Bumblebee's Herbie like antics had me close to gagging at points, the romance was handled fairly well. The Military and the weaving of current events into the film's plot was ingenious. It really helped to make our world seem small compared to the affairs of the gigantic aliens. The humor was decent. Not enough to make you laugh when it was going for the 'whole audience laughs' reaction, but enough to make you smile. And robots smashing and bashing each other, who doesn't love that? ;D As far as a sequel goes, 2 have been green lit. Bay hasn't signed on yet, but he does have ideas, including an Aircraft carrier transformer, which I'm banking as being Metroplex. The Dinobots will also be introduced, as well as my fav G1 Decepticon... SOUNDWAVE!!I don't know if it was Spielberg or the awesomeness that is Transformers, but Micheal Bay totally redeemed himself for Pearl Harbor in my eyes!

Well, that's what Wikipedia.org said in regards to a sequel, so you kind of have to factor in the reliability of the source. en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Transformers_2007#SequelsMy only question is how can the Constructicons be added if we've already seen Devestator? Will their combined form be named something else, like Ruination from RiD? BTW, found a screenshot of Barricade's cop car form. There's really only one shot in the movie where the line is visible long enough to be read, and I think you sort of have to be looking for it.

Maybe it was just me but I was kinda upset that they killed Jazz, I liked his character.

Devastator makes his name sake proud. Actually, the name was a mistake. It's supposed to be Brawl. At Botcon '07 they said they goofed. So that's how Devastator will be able to appear in the sequel as the combination of the Constructicons. I remember there being a shot where it was zoomed in on the "To Punish and Enslave..." and you could read it clearly.
