Ironically, I always look forward to spoilers! D: Maybe it's because of my habit of not finishing any HP books I buy .. I always tend to read about 1/4 of it (or if I'm lucky, 1/2 of it!) then go around asking people what happened in the story .. or just wait for the movie. XD yeah, I'm lazy like that ... Awww, I feel sorry for thee ^^ Reading a Harry Potter book for the first time is the best. I mean, I don't even care about the plot half the time. It's just the act of reading the great narrative. I mean, a plot and a good mystery helps - but it's the EXPERIENCE that counts. I can only remember what it was like reading about 4 of the books. I have little to no memory of reading book 3 and 4 for the first time. I still remember walking home from school and reading the Hermione is Petrified scene in book 2 and saying "Oh No!" I get goosebumps thinking about it. I remember lying in my room when Dumbledore died. It's really interesting. I have a space just for Deathly Hallows in my bookcase thingy on my entertainment center, but it'll mean my Gone With the Wind book no longer has a home. Oh well. It's just GWTW.

The little draw in which I keep all my Harry Potter books [even the spares ;D] is full to the brim. I'll need to relocate it to fit in three copies of Deathly Hallows ^^

Three copies?
I may end up with two due to a error with ordering on BN.com. But, as long as I have my book before the day's end.
I may decide to get the hardcovers of books 1 and 2.

My Memories and plans:
Book 1: My sister read it to us on our way to Disney World one year.
Book 2: Immediately started to read it after movie 1 in the 2nd grade. I took me two months to read it. But I wasn't reading it every day.
Book 3: Grade 3... same thing. I sat on the carpet in our classrooom after school every day.
Book 4: Same thing, but I borrowed my sister's and I remember her getting mad at me for folding the book page to keep track. I hardly picked up anything from the book.
Book 5: Picked it up at around 6am at a mall in its bookstore. They were playing Chamber of secrets on a TV and they showed the boxes the books came in. They had some funny things on them like: "Do not open before [date it was released] or else Fluffy will be very mad." Read the book in a matter of a month. My arm was broken that summer. I had to make a lot of trips to the hospital to get several x-rays. I was always carrying around Order of the Phoenix when there. Many other kids were. I was usually ahead of them. It was funny to see 5 kids in the waiting room reading the same book as I was. My sister finished the book before me of course and then I read Sirius died in the book. SPOILED! I finished it while I was up north with my mom one day.
Book 6: I was in Disneyland for the 50th anniversary at the time. We reserved our books just in case at the bookstore in Downtown Disney on the 15th and picked up our books as we were walking back to the DL Hotel. There weren't any people at the store. I read the first chapter that night, but I was too tired to continue. Any chance I got - I read. We had a five hour plane ride. I read about 200 pages or so by then. Now I was mad - By the time we were back in Montreal, my sister, and her boyfriend (who I consider a very good friend) were finished. There was no way I could go on a few more days without finding out what happens. I sat down on the couch in the living room in the afternoon and was finally finished 9-10 hours later, since I took a 1.5 hour break in between somewhere. Or something. I read Dumbledore's death and shut the book. I didn't cry but I took a breather for about 5 minutes - then kept reading. I must have looked stupid. Luckily, it was past 2am and everyone was asleep. The Harry/Ginny kiss made me so happy, and then the break-up made me nearly cry. I couldn't believe I had just read the 6th book and that there was only one left. I had come to a sad realization. I think the worst is yet to come. The realization is actually materializing. Now I'm freaked entirely.
Plans for Book 7: The local bookstore over at our nearest mall complex Quartier Dix30, Indigo, is holding its midnight release party from 9am-12:01am Saturday. My copy is pre-order and me and my friends are hanging there all day. My school uniform is going to be turned into a Ravenclaw (my house) v-neck... Sort of... I don't really have real tie, and I need to cover my school's gryphon (sp?) on it with a raven. I'll luckily have a real set of robes for the next film release. Problem is, the set I want is $120, with a $20 tie, $40 V-neck, and a $25 scarf. At least I've got my $7 wand.
Anyway, I'm not going to stop reading until I finish and I will finish the book before my sister. She plans to read it in 4 hours. I plan to read the book in about 12 hours if I'm lucky.
That seemed like a long post......

I don't know how long it took me to read books 1 through 4 the first time around, but nowadays, if I'm really reading, books 1 and 2, can take 1 to two days. Book 3 takes two to three days. Book 4 can take two to four days. Book 5 for me, the first time around took 4 days. I read about 8 to 9 chapters a day. Book 6 took just over 24 hours to read.

Do you know how to calculate your reading level? There must be something online...

Do you know how to calculate your reading level? There must be something online... Not sure. I know in 8th grade I had a 12.9, meaning I was almost at college level. Anyways, I remember my earliest memory of the series, just before I found the series. My childhood best friend read the first book a little while before I did and she turned to me and said, "there's a chapter in here called Quidditch" I remember thinking something to the effect of "So what? WTF is she talking about." I still feel ashamed that I was so stupid that I hated Harry Potter for the simple fact that it was so popular or because I hadn't even given it a chance. I owe so much to my childhood best friend and my friend Katie for making me read the series. I wouldn't be who I am today.

All the past books took me a day to read, i.e. within 24 hours. But in honor of Harry's last book - I'm taking my time on Deathly Hallows. I may spend two, maybe three days on it, to let it really sink in.
But I'll still be finished before it's released ;D w00t.
Just about to start Chapter 12, I'm on page 223.

I think the leaked copy of Deathly Hallows is fake:There are supposed to be 784 pages in the US book. There are only 759. The last line seems kind of dumb. The number of characters who die (apparently) are insane. Upwards of who knows how many. I'm hearing that some person dies but that person lives as well. The text is grainy and could be a huge hoax. Is there some kind of thing after the Epilogue? Like an afterword by Jo herself? The afterword probably isn't 24 pages if so. The reasons it could be right:From what I've heard, the prospect of some characters dying is plausible but not all that likely. The first page matches what The Guardian says. The book has been released to libraries for indexing. But apparently the guy who took the photos lives in Sweeden?Yeah... I'm very skeptical of all this. All the past books took me a day to read, i.e. within 24 hours. But in honor of Harry's last book - I'm taking my time on Deathly Hallows. Oh come on, how hard is it to not look at Spoilers? I've avoided watching episodes online on DisneyChannel.com for all but two of the episodes (and I had very valid reasons why I watched two online) and the spoilers. Self-control, man!

If it's a fake, then it'll be a great surprise on Saturday - 'cause I'll be reading two great versions of Deathly Hallows in the same week ;D
Another reason why it's probably real:
New original artwork by Mary Grand Pre, the American illustrator, for every chapter. If it's a hoax, it's a very elaborate, well-written and drawn hoax.

I hope its a hoax, than you'll be shocked about what happens in it when you read the story.
