Usually, with characters that I hate, I tend to hate the characters that make things harder for the main characters. The omnipresent ones. I don't like ones that could easily win.
Dolores Umbridge, The Dursleys, Severus Snape (to an extent) are perfect examples. As well as Spicer Lovejoy from Titanic. Emperor from Star Wars. "You will die. Strike me down." And as I understand it, it takes forever for him to die, even after what happens at the end of Jedi. Dennis Nedry from Jurassic Park. He's the reason so many people died on that Island and why the animals were loose in the park (like the T-Rex). The Wicked Witch, The Wizard of Oz. Dude, when her sister died, the midgets started singing! When people sing about your death, you're a bad guy.

I've never seen Wicked, I wanted to see it bad when Rue McClanahan (a.k.a. Blanche Devereaux on The Golden Girls) was in it.
I do love the theatre. I did spend my entire middle and high school life dealing with it.
I would hate Lucy from Peanuts, but I actually like her, because she's just a Dr. Cox character for Charlie. Lucy's fun.

One that hasn't been mentioned...
Lt. Col. Cameron Mitchell. (Stargate SG-1)
Sorry, Mitch, but you just can't replace O'Neill.

Just added to me list, as I've forgotten. Sharpay Evans. She's like Scarlett O'Hara, Bonnie Rockwaller, and Dolores Umbridge... COMBINED.

Oh wow, THIS I could go on about (but I won't make it that way)
--Well, you all know how I feel about Kim. --Lord Voldemort. Nuff said. --Lord Cutler Beckett. Nuff said. --Umbridge. Why doesn't Hogwarts just hire Kim Jong Il as well? --Bellatrix Lestrange. --Commodore Norrington. He made himself a drunk and then blamed the pirates for his troubles, and caused other problems just to get his life back. I know he helped Elizabeth and Sao Feng's crew escape the dutchman, but if he didn't give the heart to Beckett none of that would have happened anyway. --Lord Barkis Bittern. That gold-digging bastard.

There are characters I loathe and despise [nicer words for hate ] Some for annoyance, others for awful cruelty---or just both. From House--- Tritter. After a point I wanted so bad for the guy to have a bad demise when he departed from the show. Twas a manipulator only operating for a personal vendetta. I hate when a cop/law official abuses the position for their own gain SPONGBOB >:(Do they come any more annoying? Barney--a few great XMas parody songs are based on the demise of a certain purple dinosaur ;D Lilah from Hey Arnold. Pretty, popular---perfect. The character is so one dimensional, and nobody--- nobody can be that perfect. The same applies to another HA character, Olga--Helga's sister. It's teeth grating when someone can go into a deep depression for getting a B on a report card just once [She went into despair in one ep for that very same reason, pathetic] Billie's sister, Christy, in Season 8 of Charmed. I was very happy with how they wrote her fate out as it was. She was trying to ruin a good thing, even though they were trying to save her. Joo Dee of Avatar: the Last Airbender and Long Feng of the Dai Lee. I get a bit annoyed with Azula's antics, but I find her fascinating, whereas Long Feng and Joo Dee are just beyond unnerving villains [at least Long Feng anways. Joo Dee is just a mind warped servant ] Fairy Godmother [and Prince Charming] Shrek 2. Personal gain issues I despised Gaston for that reason, and any other hunter out just for the killing in any movie--Disney or otherwise. I find animal slaying to be despicable; I want to return the favor to the ones doing just that. I'm not knowledgeable enough on HP to identify with like or despise of the characters beyond the fourth movie, and for Jar Jar Binks, I wasn't so bugged by him. I've seen other characters the grated my nerves much more. ~Mara

Lila from Hey Arnold was shown to have a kind of lower-class life financially. I know this isn't imperfection, personality wise, but it's something.
- I never liked Harry Potter. He never loses. He pulls s.hits out 'is ass sometimes to save the day. I hate how everyone is like 'Oh, Harry is so special.' and always when the "chips are down" He always has the lime-light. I know it's not his character's fault, but Rowling needs to give a little more to the other characters.
