It all depends on whether a robot can achieve sentience - like Data on Star Trek. Then it becomes a discussion about whether they are truly alive, and if we can decide they are, then it becomes a matter of being a different species. I love that episode 'The Measure of A Man', where they have a trial to figure out the line between man and android. It just raises all kinds of interesting questions. Data is pretty hot, too, besides. ;D ;D ...and he's 'fully functional'. Still, I dunno, I'm fine with sex toys, but I start to get creeped out if it's not just a small toy but it's actually attached to something that starts to look like a human. It's all about The Uncanny Valley. The more and more something looks human when it's really not, the more uncomfortable we get. I'll be exploring The Uncanny Valley in my next Drakken and Shego (no real D/S this time) fic of the same name. It's creeptastic. ;D BTW, I love this subject to pieces! ;D I even held a lecture on it for a class when I lived in Japan. It's so interesting, it can be debated forever and ever, and we'll never be done with it.

Movie? I thought that was torture .... it just .. never .... seemed ... to ...end ... aaaaaaaaaaargh Agreement: I must agree with you. That movie was NOTHING but depressing. That little boy robot wasn't even 'alive', me thinks. He was just programmed and portrayed in a sympathetic light throughout the movie. My friends call me a bit ch for thinking that, but it's true ^^

...and he's 'fully functional'. Haha, I remember that episode! Tasha Yar was the luckiest woman EVER.

No! No! NO!!! Love-bots and super-advanced robots of any kind are are a very very bad idea I mean I'm I the only one who has seen this movie? What a large...gun ;D Am I the only one who's seen this movie?! Ah, Terminator and A.I. A.I's okay. I just don't trust Robots. I hate them. They'll kill us one day, I guarentee it.
