I don't get it...what's...its purpose? It's very useful to make smooth lines and such if you don't have a tablet. And they can be used to trace over logos, and then blow the logo up to much larger sizes, stuff like that.

Really great job. But I stick to my point that’s a waste to let the tutorial die on the forum.

Whoah...so THAT's how the pro's do it Very good tutorial! The steps look really clear and easy to follow...I haven't gone through the entire thing yet so far, but the screencaps definitely help! Looks really tricky to handle, though...the whole "apex" and like "driving a car" business scares me ;D Maybe after I can figure this thing out my lineart won't be so crappy :X Hehe, thanks again!

But it kind of looks like a "simple" copy of the original picture. Just, yes, larger. But well, never mind me. There are a couple perks to using the pen tool. For one, the graphic is all vector, which means it's edges are defined by mathmatics rathers than pixels. Because of this, you don't lose any details when you resize it. The lines are smoother, making it look more professional. Not to mention the fact that lines drawn in, say, Flash MX, are vector, so it looks more like animation. Plus, if you don't have a wacom tablet, you aren't forced to freehand with a mouse(which sucks. it's like drawing with a bar of soap).

But no one seems to appreciate them. You remembered me that I still want to order a tablet... Well, I still don't really get the vectorthingy but as long as you guys can make good pictures with it...

Gah! This is impossible.... How do I end a line? It keeps wanting to attach to my new line.

Gah! This is impossible.... How do I end a line? It keeps wanting to attach to my new line. Just klick somewhere in your "Paths" window. Then the line will be deselected. To start a new line, just start a new path. It's the same button as if you would make a new layer.
