Joss Possible. Is her name (Joss) short for something? Is it short for "Justine"?

If it is, her full name is Justine Possible. Farther cantobuting to the never ending "impossible" pun.

Actually I think Joss is short for Josylen (I know I may have butchered the spelling). It's a uncommon name with French roots.

ishida is correct. I also do not know how to spell that name, but I love it. If I have two daughters, my second one will have this name.

My name book lists Jocelin, Joceline, Josselyn (aha!), and Joycelin as possible spellings.
Justine, Josephine, and variants are also names which could be shortened to "Joss," but "Jo" and "Josie" are more common nicknames for these.
Most probably she's Josselyn.
