Mr. Dr. P obviously didn't meant that threat. It was just the typical father-protecting-daughter talk. He knew Ron would never hurt Kim, but he has to say it to point to Ron that Kim's happiness meant the world to him. It's been a long-running gag in televison and movies that fathers are so protective of their daughters that they scrutenize every boy who date them and threaten the boy if he does anything to their daughters. Other words, the dads always want to protect their daughters' virtue. So I really don't think Mr. Dr. P really would send Ron into a 'black hole'. It was just the usual protectivness he was displaying for any boy who dates Kim.

It is just a great example of the witty kind of humor on display in KP.

I seemed like the right idea if something bad were to happen.

Well, given that the nearest known black hole is hundreds of light years away, and the Middleton Space Center has no faster-than-light technology, the threat is impossible to carry out.
A black hole generator? Too bad it would destroy the earth. I don't think so.
Next point that all of you who fear your girlfriends' dads keep overlooking-- this threat was made contingent not on Ron going too far with Kim sexually, but on him either breaking up with her or doing anything that would make her seriously unhappy. Applying it to the sexual sitch is possible, but not at all certain.
In all probability Mrs Dr P blamed the Emotion Sickness breakup partially on this threat, and since she seems totally bent on seeing Kim and Ron together, will most likely make sure nothing of the sort is repeated.

I find it hilarious, and think that as JupMod said, it is just the protective father gag.
Besides, as someone somewhere said, "Since when has Ron being afraid ever stopped him from doing something." Ron does stuff that he is afraid to do all of the time, even breakup with Kim after the "blackhole" threat.
So in the long run it is moot. Ron will do what Ron feels he needs to do.

I thought it was hilarious. I don't think that he'd do it even if it was possible, he's just being the over protective father.

The threat he made could use some improvements. Like, he should have been more descriptive and told Ron what would happen EXACTLY. He could have said that he would send him into a super-dense dark mass with a gravitational pull so strong that not even light can escape, where he will ripped apart and then crushed by the awesome gravity of the collapsed star.

Ron could escape a black hole, saying he could tap into quantum tunneling.

if it was true this is how i envision it happening Ron: hmm.. where's the bathroom around here *walks into room* Mr. Dr. Possible: ok quickly before my daughter gets here and tries to stop us. *pushes button and rocket launched* Kim: *walks in* where's ron. Mr. Dr. Possible: i just launched him into a black hole. Kim: *starts crying* i'll never forgive you! *runs away*

Considering Mr. Dr. P. is a rocket scientist, Ron has the right to be afraid...

I have to agree with cloudmonet here. The nearest black hole is probably so far away that with the current technology, it would be impossible to send Ron there, without him dying of old age (and that's assuming they stuff a whole lifetime's worth of food and supplies in the spaceship). My advice to Mr. Dr. P is, to make the threat more plausible, try threatening to send Ron to the sun.
Okay, just kidding... ;D I always saw the whole black hole thing more as a gag than anything else, nothing more...

Well, on the plus side if Ron were to survive long enough to get to the blackhole he would get to see the death of the universe, assuming the tidal forces didn't rip him apart too soon.
Which would be kind of sweet, the seeing the end of the universe, not the getting torn apart part.
