Despite the fact that we know that Ron Stoppable is secretly a genius who just happens to be very lazy, sometimes it seems he has an IQ roughly that of a jar of mayo.
As well does Eric Matthews of Boy Meets World, Will Friedle's other character.
So... who is worse?

Since Eric was a synthodrone.... can that really be called intelligence if it's artificial? I can't really decide...

Actually, I'm referring to Eric Matthews, not the synthodrone.

Ouch this hurts me seeing as how I like both characters FYI I think you your hurting Ron's feelings with the word dumb. He isn't dumb any ways, Eric well he's just passing himself like the other geniuses did. How about we close this topic since Ron along with the Ron fans will get hurt by this not so touching topic.

I'd say Eric.
Just watch BMW (Boy Meets World) and then KP and you'll see what I mean. While Ron does tend to...... to do physical goofs more often then Eric, Eric does do some things in the mental department that out do Ron.
Of course it has been years since I watched the show, so I could be wrong.
Just my two cents. ;D

I voted for 'They are equally idiots'. (Wow, you guys are probably putting a bounty on my head now). Eric is a pure idiot, and Ron is an idiot (though Ron is a so-called positive idiot )

I don't want to insult Ron, since he made this board, so I say, Eric is dumber.

Eric wasn't always dumb. Early seasons of Boy Meets World, he was actually a little mature but as seasons past, he became dumb. So I pick Eric. Ron is not dumb, he just act goofy sometimes.

Instead of answering the question directly, I'd like to make an interesting parallel:
Both characters started out as regular guys, but somewhere down the line, they changed drastically. Eric went from a regular big brother to this big goofball. Ron went from a sidekick to a walking joke. Whereas the writers flew off the rails in changing Ron, I think Eric actually got funnier the wackier they made him.
A good example: the episode where a prank war goes too far and the gang separates. Flash forward to 10 or 20 years later and their lives are different. Eric, having rechristened himself 'Plays with Squirrels', now lives off the land. He carries with him a sort-of manifesto which contains but one sentence: "Lose one friend. Lose all friends. Lose yourself." His reasoning: "Nothing else seemed important."
So, to sum up, I don't truly agree with either of them being, as you put it, dumb. Eccentric, maybe, but never dumb.

*sigh* I shall be the flamer this time.....
I said that this poll is an insult...Ron's not dumb.....he's....LAZY, as already said. Yes lazyness can be misread as idiocy but Ron's seriously not dumb.
Eric.....dont get me started.....

Ron went from a sidekick to a walking joke. Aren't sidekicks supposed to be walking jokes? ;D Actually, he does seem smarter in Seasons 2 & 3 than he could ever have been in Season 1 and I don't really see the transition you mentioned.

This is actually a tough one.
In a way, Eric Matthews is very intelligent when it comes to women: he seems to be the only guy on that show that has a clue on how to treat ladies. Yeah, he's a player...
But I must say that Eric is a moron.

And here I was hoping that I'd be wrong about having to say something a thousand times before I'm listened to. Oh, well...
In the third season, it was like Ron got replaced by a pod person with a high voice, too many fears and sub-normal intelligence. The scariest thing of all is that no one noticed! I know I'm not the only person who can relate to Ron, so someone - anyone - ought to see where I'm coming from.

I always just saw that as settling on a character. Kim became a lot more emotional and dramatic in the last season as well.
