When I see a foot of snow, all I think is "*grumble grumble* gotta shovel the darn driveway...*grumble grumble*"

I go away for two days and come back to all this? I have quite a bit of catching up to do...
Caught up.
Nicely done Charlotte and Poisonousangel. And of course, you both had to update on the days when I happened to be away.
You're right about the old D/S fics' take on Junior, Angel, but I never noticed it until now, and cudos on the excellent Ron dialogue.
I honestly didn't expect an update for that one so soon Char, well done. And for the record, I wanted to lock Wally in a dungeon, too.
If you believe the Americans and Norwegians will think you're a pansy for complaing about the snow, imagine what I think, I'm a Canadian.

We've gotten over four feet of snow the last couple of weeks. Now usually I love snow, but right now I wanna Falcon Punch Jack Frost right in his jingleberries. If I have to shovel any more of that stuff I'll go into an unholy, all-consuming rage.

I thought I'd say a little something about the old D/S fics so people who haven't read them would. Most of them weren't very in character, but they were still fun little reads. And Ron is particularly easy to write. I just think of the most stupidest thing to say, and bam! It's a perfect Ron line. Seriously. No offense to the Ron fans, but I don't think I'll find too many of them here. That's what makes this thread so wonderful!

I'm tempted to create a "Shego vs. T1000" thread just to spite the people who hate such threads.
You poor bastards getting snowed in while I sit around with relatively warm weather and rain instead of ice and snow... I don't envy any of you.
Hmmm, got to get back on topic some how... would anyone like to comment on how long they think a marriage between Drakken and Shego would last and why?
And anyone who says forever will be immediately shipped to slicknick's ward house.

I'm up early waiting for the doctor's office to open so I can call them and snag one of their appointments today before the rush, so I might as well post here while I wait. Well, I think I'd have to answer that-- in the spirit of their relationship of the show-- it's likely that they'd get a divorce at some point, and then probably get back together later. That seems reasonable to me. BUT WRONG!!! OTPs DON'T GET DIVORCES! I FORGOT!!! D:!!111!! Thank you, thank you, that was my celebrity impression. I'm here 'till Thursday. Please try the fish. Now I'm sure that there's gonna be some sort of karmic being popping into existence and telling us that we're bullying and only sinking down to the level of other people's bad examples. And we probably are.

I honestly didn't expect an update for that one so soon Char, well done. And for the record, I wanted to lock Wally in a dungeon, too. I've only seen part of that episode, and I already wanted Kim to go kung-fu on him. If you believe the Americans and Norwegians will think you're a pansy for complaing about the snow, imagine what I think, I'm a Canadian. Canada, it's like America but more hardy. Seriously, didn't the hydroelectric dams freeze up a while ago? That's cold. THREAD DERAILED! OMG!!! D: Oops. Sorry about that. Like the picture though. Hmmm, got to get back on topic some how... would anyone like to comment on how long they think a marriage between Drakken and Shego would last and why? And anyone who says forever will be immediately shipped to slicknick's ward house. At the risk of such a fate, it could work. Like this guy and his partner, driving each other insane makes them happy. From the FAQ of that site: On the other hand, this from Mike Industries' The Consequences Of Growing Up makes sense too: That sounded plausible. Well, I think I'd have to answer that-- in the spirit of their relationship of the show-- it's likely that they'd get a divorce at some point, and then probably get back together later. That seems reasonable to me. Their getting back together would make a good tale. It does sound reasonable. But stuff reasonable, I was thinking, now we have two D/S threads, shall we make the other one the hardline fanatic splinter faction? DRAKAN/SHEGO IS LAW DENY IT AND YOUR NOT HUMAN DRAKIM AND RONGO SHIPERS MUST DIE Ooh, dramatic.

Oops. Sorry about that. Like the picture though. I was just joking. I was posting about the snow and other people being pansies for complaining about it, too. Ouch. Now that's depressing. @____@ Hits me right in my poor, poor shipper's heart. Although I do believe that no relationship comes with a guarantee, and this passage doesn't seem too far-fetched. I'm sure it's a bit awkward for people-- considering we so often get fed Happy Endings-- to write stories where it just doesn't work out. However, I must admit that even if I've written darker fics (not so much for KP, yet) I myself like to end on at least a semi-hopeful note, or else a downer does tend to seem like it's done purely for shock value/to get attention. Also, I guess I'm sometimes more optimistic about life/people than I think I am. When the fics get too depressing/dark, to me it just gets ridiculous because it doesn't seem realistic anymore (but that passage doesn't seem like it's aiming to bum people out; it's just a portrait of a relationship that fell apart). Some people know how to do 'downer' endings very well, though. DRAKAN/SHEGO IS LAW DENY IT AND YOUR NOT HUMAN DRAKIM AND RONGO SHIPERS MUST DIE Let the whining and bitching bloodshed commence.

I can't ever remember Drakken feeling inferior to Shego, except maybe those fanfics where she's just so perfect, and acts more like the boss of the two, barking orders at Drakken when she's not insulting him or telling him to shut up. Now in the show Drakken spends a lot of time gloating about his plans and such, which indicates he has very high thoughts of himself. Being a stereotypical megalomanic take-over-the-world villain it's just natural. As for Shego and Drakken marrying/divorcing. If you think about it in a realistic sense I doubt they'd get divorced. Seperated for a while, sure, but they put up with each other so much they're practically married already. I doubt a legal piece of paper would make them act any different than they already do, and they always end up back together. I like to stay as true as possible to the show itself however, both in my fics and when approaching ideas like marriage. They are cartoon characters on a cartoon show. Real life physics doesn't really apply a lot of the time. We know for a fact that in the Show canon Kim and Ron stay together till they grow old and all that. In real life marrying your high school sweet heart tends to end in divorce. So why would Drakken and Shego be an exception to the rule? If they did get married I'd think they'd just do what they usually do whenever they got fed up with each other. Spend some time apart until they start missing each other. Divorce doesn't really seem like a thing that'd exist on the lighthearted show that KP is. It's certainly not been brought up. In the end I'd also like to say I don't really think they'd get married at all. The whole event is too mushy for those two, plus they'd have to invite their families.

Yeah, I guess I have to put my two cents worth in on this discussion. I think they would stay together...and I don't say that as a 'rabid shipper' type person, but as a been-with-the-same-guy-for-13-years type person. If they ever did go so far as to get married, I think they would take it very seriously, because it would be a big deal for them to do something that was so...conventional. So I tend to think they would seperate (not a legal seperation, just spend time apart...after all, 'legal' isn't that important to them and get back together, but not go as far as getting a divorce. I like to stay as true as possible to the show itself however, both in my fics and when approaching ideas like marriage. They are cartoon characters on a cartoon show. If they did get married I'd think they'd just do what they usually do whenever they got fed up with each other. Spend some time apart until they start missing each other. Well, that's what my husband and I do, actually, so maybe some real-life principles do apply. The idea that marriage equals spending every stinking minute together and having to be nothing but disgustingly nice and happy the whole time is, in my opinion, why a lot of mariages fail. The Happy Ending...whether that's a kiss or a wedding or somehting more adult...is not really The End. It's the beginning. Shego already knows that sometimes, she just has to get away. I didn't discover the value of the Seperate Vacation until after both my kids had been born and I was cranky and hormonal and sleep deprived and my husband was cranky and sleep deprived and...well, just getting on my last nerve, and we were fighting about everything. I honestly couldn't stand to be in the same room with him. So I packed up my 2 year old and my 4 month old, called my mom and told her we were going to her beach house, and that she probably should not join us. I stayed there for a month, not doing much other than feeding the babies, eating and napping. It was great. And I eventually called my husband and asked him to join us. And we got along very, very well. Now I vacation without him pretty much every summer. And we're always glad to see each other after that. And , yeah, I know they're fictional, but I can't help using real-life comparisons.

I've thought a bit about it, and I have to admit I was a little unsure when writing my previous post. Partly spurred on by a wish to not appear in any way like the kind of shipper that a certain fundamentalist is-- influenced by CJS's comment when he asked the marriage question-- and partly by my own, ever-present desire to try to be reasonable and open to different kinds of views, and not too idealistic or naive, I overdid it and kinda forgot exactly what Dippy is pointing out here. D/S are cartoon characters, and cartoon characters can and often do have happy endings, even if it would be a weird, villainy kind of happy ending for D/S. In that aspect, I realized I do think they'd always keep getting back together. I honestly think we've all just been reading and writing too many fanfics. Maybe we should watch the show again. XD If D/S were filtered through Real Life, however-- like fanfics often do-- anything could happen, IMO, even divorce. The whole thing about Drakken feeling so inferior to Shego does seem to be mostly a fanon construction, probably inspired by things like A Sitch in Time or Shego getting a higher score on the evil-testing machine in Bad Boy. While it's obvious that Shego gets fed up with Drakken sometimes and probably thinks he's not as smart as he'd like to think/gets annoyed at his arrogance, I can't remember any clear cut examples from the show where we're shown that Drakken feels all inferior to Shego. He does have a big ego, even if it can seem a bit fragile sometimes. Out of curiosity, I read the story that RedBlueGreen quoted, and while the quote seemed like an interesting possibility in itself when I first read it, it kind of lost a bit of credibility when the story gave that as a reason why D/S couldn't work out, yet turned around and paired Drakken with Kim in an Instant Love kind of way (incidentally also dismissing Ron in barely a couple of sentences, and making Shego a bit meaner than usual). Because you'd think that things like age difference, an inferiority complex and a love for younger men would in fact be even bigger issues with Drakkim-- and that's not even considering the fact that they're on opposite sides of the law. Most pairings can have some semblance of credibility when done right, but this was too fast and easy for me. I'm not criticizing this for no other reason than the fact that it 'opposes' my own ship-- it just kinda reminds me of some of the hastier 'shippy' stories I'd write or read when I was younger. And there are plenty of D/S fanfics where they get together in much too fast and easy a fashion, too. But don't let me tell you what to think. Read the story and judge for yourself. In closing, I'll just repeat myself:D/S as cartoon characters in a light-hearted show-- would actually most likely last 'forever'. D/S in a more Real Life setting-- anything could happen.

Hehe, 'rabid shipper', yeah. That's exactly what I didn't wanna sound like, either. XD Yeah, I think there's a reason why several fanfic writers seem to give them time apart. In my own input on 'real life comparison', I have to say me and the BF suddenly fought a lot less after we moved into a bigger apartment with a dish washer and our own separate office type rooms. Not having to do the dishes by hand or share a computer cut our fighting time down to half, it feels like.

nothing to do with nothing, I finished your request Ninnik! dADrakken and Shego kissing. I feel very insecure about this one, it has many flaws. Sorry in advance if you don't like it or something. It is not the last D/S kiss I'm drawing so maybe I'll improve with some more practice! here is the page with the sketchI was going to do the one in the bottom left corner, but I thought it was too similar to the kiss skinny-mini drew long ago. I felt I was sorta copying it. ok I'll shut up now D:

I'd like to see Drakken propose to Shego. I think it'd be amusing to see how he'd botch it up.
