Personally I don't particularly have anything against any well-written Fanfic even if it goes against Cannon. If an author can come up with a good story then it shouldn't be a problem. Agreed. If they can justify it, it's cool. Do something silly like, oh I don't know, make Ron and Kim be a part of the professional level roller derby team isn't that great idea. They have on a mission trying to figure out why Drakken is interested in the league would be though.

I don’t like fics that change canon for two very simple reasons - 1) I prefer stories about Kim and Ron (the ‘continuing adventures of’) as I think there’s tons of potential for good stories there and 2) ‘Changing’ canon (killing off characters, making them evil, aging them, etc.) tells me the writer couldn’t think of anything else to do with the characters as they exist now. It’s laziness on the writer’s part. And if the writer couldn’t be bothered to come up with an original story, he or she probably couldn’t come up with anything original or interesting to say about the characters. It’s a big red flag to me. Stories like this CAN be done, but it takes a deft touch. The writer must know what they’re doing, or they invariably trample the Kim Possible concept.

I wouldn't call it laziness...I would call it creativeness.
I'm a huge starwars fan and have always loved to see Kim and Ron in the starwars galaxy or atleast the galaxy coming to them!
Personally though, I never actually changed canon but I have referred to it. My story Grounded for Life refers to Kim and Ron in the prom...but I didn't want to use any romance in my story. So i simply said that both Kim and Ron were too frightened to continue with their relationship.
Eventually though I did the inevitable...I changed the genre of my story to romance and both Kim and Ron actually spoke of theprom...then things changed. I tried avoiding it...couldnt!
My vote was I dont mind as long as they are written well.

I like a good fic, even if things are different. Heck lately, I've been readin' a lot of good fics on ff.net about kim possible, some were by Zaratan, another who's name i cant' really remember had a fic that replaced the so the drama era and had ron paired off with this ooc named joan and she was human. but in the end ron and kim got together, and in the reviews, you could see not many people liked the joan character and that sucked, hell i thought she was great. Anyways... yeah

I think off canon stories are just fine, as long as they are written well. If it's not written well, I usually just ignore it, unless it's someone's first story and they are progessing, as they need support to keep going. I don't read any fics that are over Teen (otherwise known as PG-13), so I haven't read the second book in the Redemption series by Zaratan, but I'm fine with his work. I like Kim/Ron but am okay with a little bit of Ron/Yori. Other than that I usually don't like anything else that has Kim or Ron with any other people. This was why I was so against G-Go's Reunion at first.
But on the bigger picture, I'm fine with off-canon fanfictions.
