Alright got a quick question for all you fanfiction writers that I'm having problems dealing with. How do you write Professor Dementor accent into his dialog? Rules of what to replace and all that good stuff. Thanks for any help.

I change S's into Z'z and add more of an 's' sound to any words that start with 'th'.

My only guess would be to either put in the v's (1) or to say 'he said with an accent.' (2)
Examples:
1: "Today vill be your doom,"
or
2: "Today will be your doom," he said with an accent.

I'm not sure if you have to write his accent. I guess it's enough when you just mention in one sentence that he has an accent.
(But I'm still not sure if Dementor is really Nacospeak. It just doesn't sound like a Nacospeak accent.)

If you must use the accent stick to small things like changing the w's to v's and some s's to z's. Too much and it gets in the way.

His talking style is one of the reasons I like to avoid writting about Dementor, its easy to get it to sound like him, but it will be hard for people to get it. I think thats how it works, sounds good to you, but to everyone else |
