Well, the first Kim Possible Short Fanfiction Contest has come to a close. The voting will start today, and run for two weeks.
Now that it has drawn to a close I have a few questions.
First and foremost, is this something that people would want to do again?
If yes, then how often? I do not want to go more often then once a month, but we could have a new contest at the beginning of every month, or once every two months, or once every three months, or twice a year.
Was the two weeks for writing a proper amount of time? If not, then was it too long or too short?
Is two weeks for voting adequate? If not, then is this too long or too short?
Are there any other concerns or comments?

Oh, I love contests. Don't always have the time to parcipate, but I'm quite liking the idea. I think it would be good to have a contest every one or two months.
Two weeks for writing is a great amount of time--allows for pondering and critiquing, as long as the contest stays to short stories.
I think two weeks for voting is far too long.

How long would you give to vote? One week? I just want to make sure that people have enough time to read all of the submissions.

I'd give voting at most a week. If that.
As for the contest I'd say every month. I enjoy these things and as I've said before I look for any excuse not to update my main works. ;D
Yes two weeks is fine for writting time.

I enjoyed it, and feel once every month is practical and more importantly doable.
2 weeks for voting is far too long IMO, a week should be just fine.
But how does the voting thing work, I would think the authors themselves wouldn't vote (we'd just vote for our own ;D ) so that should leave it to the rest of the public. But will they actually read the stories? That is the true question.

I thought it was fun...
Once a month sounds like a good plan to me. Helps to keep in practice, I guess. Also, I'll agree with only needing a week to vote.
As to the votes themselves... ditto Ezbok, but with a procedural question. Do the votes get posted in the vote thread as a public ballot, or should this be done as a secret ballot type thing, and PM the votes to some neutral party?
Just curious.

To get away from the encountering the peaking effect I am wanting the voting to be a ranking. 1 best, 2 second best, and so on. Then I will sum them up and the lowest score will win.
This way the authors can still vote and even if they vote for their fic first they will have to rank the rest.
To be honest, I had originally intended to have a public ballet, but I think that Moose has a point about private ballets. It will make people more at easy in ranking the authors without fear of upsetting friends.
I will implement it.

Ok, I understand that now.
On first impression on reading the voting it seemed a little confusing, but I got it now.
Shouldn't be a bad voting system, as long as you didn't ask people from Florida if it was ok. lol (old political joke fyi ;D )

You ranked me number 6! Bah!
But yeah when your not even going to vote for yourself it's pretty bad. O well ;D
Sound like a good system. I'll vote some time or another.
