Well, voting has ended. We had eleven votes cast. Less then I had hoped for, but understandable with the holidays and the first contest.
Thank you to all of the authors and to those (Ezbok58, Artificial Moose, Raptor, Drakken's Woman, AridBlue, Miss Piratess, sariahsariah, Cloudmonet, Will, Surforst, kimberlyann56) that took the time to read and vote.
This was a very close contest; only three points separated the top three stories.
The winner with a total of 38 points was MrDrP. First runner-up with a total of 39 points was Recon228 Second runner-up with a total of 41 points was Artificial Moose
Congratulations! You have won some bragging rights, and if I can ever getting it done a graphic to place on a personal webpage if you like.
I hope that everyone enjoyed this contest. Have a happy New Year.

Close is how I expected it to be. Just to show you how close, 11 votes for fourth place would get you 44 points; the winner had 38. It's not surprising if the vote count doesn't agree exactly with anyone's individual list. Congradulations, Mr. Dr. P. I know your artwork pretty well at Deviant Art, but at one post here, you truly won on merit.

Congrats to the winners. It was a good fight after all. Truly one for the ages and I'm sure the poets will speak of this when we have all passed away. Then again maybe they won't but who am I to judge the way history will record things.

Congrats to MrDrP and Recon. Well-fought, gentlemen. And well done to all the writters who submitted. All were very enjoyable reads.

Okay, I finally got around to finishing the graphic for the winners of the contest. I made up two types; a static image and an animated gif. The static image is small (4.95 KB), but the text is pretty small, in my opinion. The animated gif looks better, in my opinion, but is a larger file (49.1 KB). To compromise I made a low res image (2.32 KB) to use as a placeholder for the animation while it loads. What does everyone think? Should I head back to the drawing board? Are there suggestions for improvement? (Make sure they are web freindly. I had a kick-butt one with color to grayscale fade along with red text and a black dropshadow to help offset from the background, but it was about 100 KB optimized. Not really useful as a web graphic since it would have taken about 20 seconds to load on dial-up.)

Yeah, planning on having a winner, a 2nd Place, and a 3rd Place. However, I wanted to get feedback on the design before I made up the other two.
