Just a quick question... do authors get a vote as well, or would that contaminate the results?

Authors can vote as well, and are encouraged to do so.

I must say that this batch's stories are all brilliant. It's going to be a hard decision for me...

*hangs head in shame* I must actually read the fics (those that I did not read on ff.net) before voting. I have had no time to read them!

Okay people. Let's get more votes in. As of right now we have had six votes cast.
Thank you to Ezbok58a, Zaratan, MrDrP, Aridblue, CloudMonet, and Miss Piratess for voting.
Let's get a few more votes in people.
If there is a problem or concern with any part of the process let me know and I will do my best to look into it.
It is again a very close race. Only nine point seperate first from last and first has changed hands a couple of times so your vote could be the deciding factor.

Keep those votes coming people. Pass the word to anyone you know that likes reading fanfiction to come read and vote.
We are now at a grand total of nine voters. Raptor, Drakken's Woman, and Will voted today. Thank you all.
Get those votes in people we only have five days left.
On a side note. What are the thoughts on me posting the standings every time I count the votes?

Better to keep it hidden till the end. Might influence voting otherwise.

Okay, the results will remain hidden.
I will tell you that first place has started to really pull away this time, but the rest are remaining very tight.
We are now up to 11 votes. Surforst and Sariahsariah have added their votes.
Keep them coming in folks. Every vote can make a difference in this contest.

Re. voting. I agree with Zaratan and Raptor. The results should not be revealed until the result is announced.

Well, at last count I am winning by a landslide. Write in votes and all that. ;D {I am kidding of course.}
Well, we now officially have more votes then last month, we have 14. Molloy, Artificial Moose, and Kimberlyann56 cast their votes.
Hurry up if you want to make your voice heard. The poll closes at midnight tonight.

You should have made your own story eligible. Why not? You're organizing the contest, but it's not like there's a prize at stake. Why shouldn't you enter?

You should have made your own story eligible. Why not? You're organizing the contest, but it's not like there's a prize at stake. Why shouldn't you enter? I have had a few people say the same thing. There are a couple of reasons that I am hesitant to submit my own stories for voting. First, I am the one that thinks of the ideas. I have about thirty story ideas in the wings and have thought of at least a half dozen different ideas for each one, else they don't make the cut. This gives me an unfair time advantage over the other authors. Second, and more critical. I am the one who counts the votes. This introduces two problems. Having an author tally the secret ballets might sway the votes in my favor since some people might have a hard time voting mine as low as they would like knowing that I will see their votes and might be offended. Also, if it were ever to occur that I did win, despite there being no prize I wouldn't want anyone to think that the voting was tampered with. While I would enjoy seeing just how well my stories would do I am more interested in getting this contest to grow, and I don't want anything to even appear improper. Thank you all for your support, but at this time I think that I am going to have to leave myself out of the running. If I get time I might try and work up an automated voting website using PHP and MySQL. This would allow a person to vote in private without any fear of my seeing their votes. It could also be opened to an impartial third party for verification if need be. Unfortunately, this is pretty low on my priority list at this time.
