Just curious - do you have a routine where you sit down at the same time every day and write fanfic, or do you "wing" it as the mood grabs you...
;D

I wing it whenever I'm in the mood. Sometimes my story goes completely away from where it was supposed to that chapter, simply by how it flows at that time. Makes things interesting.

Nine times out of ten, I write at night. I get home, help with supper, homework, dishes, laundry, and then settle back to write or watch tv. I will put some music on sometimes or just have things quiet. If all goes well I can knock out a few pages an hour or so.

Oh, I try to type up a few pages per night on weekdays and type as much as I can in my free time on weekends. I'll keep doing so until I finish a story before taking a break for a few days. Then I'll start typing up the next story.

I almost always write at nighttime. Usually between 7 and 10 pm. I never usually write during the day. I guess it's because I've been writing at nighttime, typing it up in the morning for so long, that it is now sacred for me. And I could never change it.
There are times that I'll wing it, but not very...

When I'm working on a story, I use my break from work (restaurant) to sit at the library for two or three hours each day.

I wing it whenever possible (time x inspiration = story) Thank god for handheld computers! I can write anywhere!

Mainly its whenever I have time. I used to write a lot when I had free time in classes, but now any free time in classes is spent by writing a paper of some sort for another class *cough*BritLit*cough*MediaLit*cough*
I do write quite a bit in the evenings but again, it's when I have time.

I have never written anytime of a creative nature (excluding school stuff) while at school. It just doesn't seem right to do that.

I like to write when the mood hits me. Sometimes I'll have ideas swirling around in my heads (I don't often use notes.) Back when I was at the bike shop I'd sit at the front counter writing chapters longhand, then transpose them to the computer when I got home (we had word on the office computer, but I wasn't comfortable writing there.)
I'll go to bed at night with ideas pounding on my skull, fully intent on going back to the writing in the morning, yet I'll turn Word on and stare at the screen for a couple hours before the mood really hits me. Lately, since I've rediscovered drawing, I'll go to PaintShop and work on my art, to the point it's becoming a distraction from my writing.

I have to have a long period of time when I can think, without worries, upsets, or distractions (preferably several hours). Whenever I write I put on headphones and listen to music and tune everything else out while I concentrate on my writing. Which is why I haven't done any fiction for quite a while, because whenever I have such a long period to work I usually devote it to music composing. I've turned to drawing more of late because I can do art even if I have to interrupt my work frequently.

Whenever the house is quiet and I'm in the mood I strike. Although sometimes I get inspired by something and I have to get it all out, because I know later I wont be in the mood and the inspiration is gone.

For me, the easiest time to write is between 7 and 10 pm. I've been writing during this time for years and it just feels so right. Now, what inspires me to write is different. Saturday Night, I was inspired by music (notably love songs, The Backstreet Boys, etc). Sunday Night, I was inspired by watching KP. There was a night that watching Dogma inspired me.
But one thing's for sure: my writing time is absolutely sacred and I absolutely HATE it when somebody bothers me while writing.
