forums.avatarspirit.net/index.php#4Fellow fans of Avatar, the last airbender (Commander Argus, are you listening?), here's an Avatar forum that's actually alive and kicking. This is where I've been lately when I'm not around here. The main site has a lot of great information, screenshots, transcripts, all that good stuff.

Took a look in there, signed up, and promptly got a note that my avatar and sig were too big. I used the same ones I used here, and that's way on the silly side of restrictive - and I'm on dial-up!
I'll lurk, maybe, but they've ticked me off already. You should understand about a board ticking somebody off.

Just took a look at their site, and I'm really not impressed. I do tune in to Avatar from time to time, but I'm not a raving fan.

Took a look at their archive of closed topics. Place is more interested in their rules than anything else.

I did peek at the place.
It does seem to be run by fans of the Ba Sing Se Cultural Ministry.
They could take a few tips from King Boomy (spelling?)

Took a look at their archive of closed topics. Place is more interested in their rules than anything else. Well, I can't argue too much with that, but so far I haven't run afoul of them. They seem to want to keep things organized. Usually they'll just merge threads. It doesn't seem like they really stifle any point of view, if it relates to the show. Trouble is, this is the only Avatar forum I've found that's actually flourishing. The others, I'd post something, and maybe two days later somebody would say something. The debate of the all-purpose shipping thread between K/A and K/Z supporters the past three days or so has been rather interesting. Yeah, I prefer boards like this one, that are more on the Bumi side of organization, but I'll take a lively discussion over a ghost town, even if the Dai Li are in charge. As for their avatar-size rules, Commander Argus, I had no problem with mine, but maybe the animation made yours have too many kilobytes. I notice they don't have animated avatars for the most part. They're not on proboards or any service like that, probably paying for their own server space and want to keep it down. I can understand this. How many times has Serge or Draco bugged someone about a sig, anyway? If you find an Avatar board that's more to your taste, let me know.
