Interesting thing happened to me today... a cop pulled me over for speeding, and it saved me about $300!
How is that possible you ask? Well, I was going 50mph in a 40mph street in the rain, so a cop pulled me over. When I tried to roll down my window by pressing the button, it wouldn't roll down. I just heard the little window motor running but nothing happened. It was a brand new window I had just got installed 12 days ago, and that was my first time trying to open it since the day it was installed. So I opened the door for the cop and he gave me a long lecture about driving too fast and decided to give me a warning instead of a ticket. When he closed my door, the window fell down into the door and broke. He gave me his card, and said if the window repair people don't replace it I can call him, because he saw what happened. The window had fallen off the track because it wasn't installed properly.
So I called the guy who had replaced my window 12 days ago (on the reciept it said lifetime labor warranty), and he drove out and looked at my window and tried to make up some excuse saying that the window was forced open and that's what broke it. He wouldn't believe me, and he was going to charge me for a new window. Then I called the police officer who had witnessed it happen, and he talked to the window guy, and finally the window guy backed down and put a new window on my car. The cop saved me about $300.
