You haven't given me any evidence to change my mind. And you haven't given me any evidence to suggest that the line should be taken at face value. Other than continuously restating it, of course. "Sometimes a cigar is just a cigar" was the expression I had in mind when I said "sometimes I hate you just means I hate you." But what evidence do you have that this was one of these times? I don't have to see any underlying meaning in Kim's comment however much you would like me to. And I don't see how it can't have underlying meaning. Why make a character OOC if you're not going to explain it later? (and yes, Kim was OOC) Since we appear to be hijacking this thread, let's confine all further discussion to PM.

You take debate to a whole new place, one I have never been before.
Canon does not require evidence.
This is just going to go on and on... it's tedious Tony.
I have a question for you that is not meant to put you on the defensive. I am actually curious. I just read in the other thread that you find Shego very attractive. I'm just curious if you find Kim equally attractive? <---- not a debate question

STG is the new benchmark for Kim and Shego's relationship. Indeed, it's now benchmarked that there's a potential platonic friendship, held back by the fact both subscribe to personal philosophies the other finds abhorent. And STG also sets the benchmark for Shego and Barkins relationship. There's definitely strong romantic feelings on both sides, but Shego's feelings aren't strong enough for her to let Barkin sing badly at her without being smacked down. Both quite clearly established in the same episode.

But I'd also look at Kim's character in general, and consider her the type who forgive very easily when she has the chance. In short, after everything Shego put Kim through up to StD, Kim has some very legitimate hate. But when STG hit, Kim was willing to forgive good Shego and help her out.

Kim: "You know what I really hate?"Shego: "That your date melted?"Kim: "Nah. You."- Kim and Shego, from "So The Drama" Actual "So The Drama" sequence (after that line) : Uummmm....yeah, they love each other, alright. Well, would you do that to your own parents after you've argued with them? Of course not! BarGo on the other hand is more likely, as they have actually dated each other in "Stop Team Go"! ;D

I'm gonna go with brendank on this one and say that Kim's the type who easily forgives. She may have meant it back then, but she wouldn't say anything like that now. I always took that line as a "turn Shego's own words against her" quip, since it follows the same format as Shego's line: "You know what I hate?" "When somebody kidnaps your boyfriend?" "When someone doesn't know when to give up!" Admittedly, Kim took it a little OTT. But the bottom line is that she gave Shego the chance to survive. If Kim REALLY hated her, she would have tackled Shego to the ground and beat her face in until she couldn't move her arms. That would be a murderous hatred. She also would have jumped into the police van and continued beating Shego to within an inch of her life. Another possibility for the meaning of the line is what she didn't say. Her response to Shego in the earlier exchange was, "When somebody kidnaps your boyfriend?" This suggests that what she really meant was, "I hate it that you made it personal like that." And when you think about it, that's what separates StD from all their previous encounters: Shego made it personal. It wasn't until after Shego said, "Hey, Eric's pretty cute. Once you're out of the picture, maybe I'll date him," that Kim got truly riled up. Before that, it was just another standard Kim/Shego fight, complete with witty bantering. It wasn't a string of "I hate you" comments. But then Shego crossed a line, and Kim got angry about it. So the real reason that Kim kicked Shego into that tower was not because she hated her with every fiber of her being (otherwise she wouldn't have stopped at just kicking her into the tower), but because she resented Shego for breaking their unwritten "rules" of engagement. Prior to StD, Kim and Shego rarely commented on each other's personal lives, and even then it wasn't anywhere near as sensitive as Shego announcing her intentions to steal Eric away from Kim. Shego crossed a line. Kim got angry and said she hated her. Shego learned what happens when you make Kim Possible mad, and so far this season she's been careful to leave deeply personal issues out of the conversations. The whole conflict at the end of StD was merely Kim setting a boundary. How's THAT for spin?

I mean she could not have said it any better. You make great points also Zora.

I shall fight canon with canon:
Kim: But sometimes, when you really get to know somebody, and after their brainwaves have been flipped, you find you have more in common than you think. She's like a big sister.
Kim wouldn't hang out with someone she hates, regardless of whether or not they were good. I'm gonna say that Kim forgave Shego.

Interesting that she would put that first. Like I said earlier. Kim was willing to save Shego from her brothers even BEFORE she learned Shego had been hit with the attitudinator. I also don't think Kim is the type to hold a grudge. And it's Zoza.

as ZOZA said anybody can SPIN. "It comes first so it means more".
This is a shipping thread. This is about Barkin/Shego. You are making this about Your ship.

as ZOZA said anybody can SPIN. "It comes first so it means more". She put more emphasis on it is what I mean. She said the "brainwaves" part kind of fast, as though she were glazing over it. Aren't we in the wrong thread?

I still like Barkin/Ms Go for the one episode but imo its no different then the relationship Drakken/Shego had in "Emotion Sickness". A one episode thing for now.

I have a theory on that. I'm thinking that its the attitudinators' effect on the people around the person (except for Ron, but he's just jelling, that all! hehe!). Well, Drakken bonded with Rufus in "Bad Boy", we don't see anyone shipping those two, do we? In addition, BarGo dates back from the first KP episode, "Tick-Tick-Tick". Awwww...isn't that cute? hehe!

Out of all pairings this is the one I am most willing to support, even if I won't be completely fanatical about it. I think either Miss Go or Shego could get along with Barkin. The relationship in each would just be slightly different. Right now I have a fic about Miss Go going that includes Sharkin (Bargo sounds too much like "embargo"), once I wrap that up, and my other fic, I have ideas for a Shego/Barkin fic, so I'll join in the madness! (could take awhile though) (Sorry, felt like I had to get this thread somewhat back on track)
