When I saw it, the first thing that jumped to my mind was: there are parents who are going to think this will traumatize children. Drakkenfan is the first I've heard mentioning it actually happening, but I can easily believe it.

What exactly do we mean traumatise?
I mean, I can imagine it freaking out young children but I find it a bit hard to believe that it will have the lasting effect as real traumatic experiences.
Ask them in a year how they feel about it...

I remember reading a review of Stitch Has A Glitch that said their child was traumatized by *spoiler* Stitch's death in the movie. I mean, sure it lasted less than 5 minutes, but it made me cry. I thought that the guys who did SHAG made a bad choice, but Mufasa, Beast, etc all died in their movies... some on screen.

We should have more faith in kids. I mean... They usually can handle more than you think. Heck, I could handle far more than you think, because I know the difference between fiction and reality. Of course, I can handle the fiction, not the reality. Children are usually more capable to notice the difference, unless the adults misguide them. These are my two cents.

I remember I was traumatized by a cartoon as a 5 year old. I saw a cartoon where monsters from another dimension would reach out from under children's beds and pull them into that dimension and make the children slave workers turning a giant mill. I became terrified of monsters under my bed until I was like 9 or 10. I remember laying still, terrified to move, because the monsters might hear me. Oh and my dad decided to show me the movie "Jaws" when I was 6. It traumatized me for years. I loved to swim before that movie, and after seeing Jaws I became terrified of sharks hiding in the water (even in swimming pools) for several years. So tv shows can traumatize kids for years, because it happened to me.

When my 3-year-old daughter and I were watching the Season 4 premiere, she had this huge smile as she watched Kim and Ron dance. Then suddenly as Kim melted my daughter's jaw dropped open in horror, and she hugged me and hid. I had never seen such a look of shock on her face. She was completely terrified, and said "Kim Possible died?" I thought she would get over it... but whenever I mention KP to her, she thinks of that. Even tonight she said "Kim Possible hugged Ron and melted." She's too young to understand that the melting scene was Ron's dream. So she thinks Kim is dead even if I say she's not. I mean she saw Kim melt. Nothing could convince her otherwise. So my question is... do you think other kids were traumatized by that scene? No. Gods, you sound like the people who got Darkwing Duck cancelled. Then again I did have bad dreams f4rom Pee Wee's big adventure, but I got over that in a week.

Actually it is a fact that, at about 3 years old, most children cannot really separate fiction from reality. I was kind of surprised at that scene but it didn't really affect me. Then again I'm 18.
You'd be surprised at the way some children can cover up their fears. Just because a kid doesn't show that their afraid doesn't mean that it hasn't in any way, shape, or form affected them. I mean, when I was like 6 years old, I caught part of that movie "Child's Play" and I haven't to this day watched a scary movie. Did I show that I was afraid? No way. But I definately had nightmares for a long time afterwards.
But back to the point. Think about this from a child's POV...you just watched your favorite cartoon character melt before your eyes. Kind of scary stuff (depending on the age). Sometimes this affects children. Sometimes it doesn't.

He was hot! Nothing I watched as a kid ever traumatized me. Some movies did, however, make me cry. The Land Before Time, An American Tail etc.

I was slightly traumatized by Jurassic Park. I was 5 or so when I saw it.
But I think the fact that that movie is now number four on my favorite movies of all time list and I own a DVD and VHS of that movie, speaks for itself.

I haven't really been traumatized by anything like this. The ending to Raiders of the Lost Ark just reminded me of the scene in Ghostbusters were all the captured ghosts are released.

After I wathced the promo i opened a thread in Slash Heavon called ,,WTF'' >_____> You know,I call that Irony.^___~ Disney does not allow to let Kigo happen, probably because they fear that parents get angry about that and spatting words like:,,Immorally wrong'' ,,It's Traumatizing Children'' ,,This is wrongsick'' and so on like ,,Buffy'' (maybe even ,,Xena''). But--- Disneys let make Shego get fried in a Tower almost killed and Kimmie melted...IN A KID SHOW!!! And THAT is traumatic to children... Sometimes i wonder who is behind this stuff in Disney Cooperation-.-.... Don't mind me,like you all know

But--- Disneys let make Shego get fried in a Tower almost killed Well, as we could see shortly afterwards, she didn'T even got hurt much. No, in a nightmare, in a kids show. This is a difference.

Now, I'm no 6 year old, but if I saw a character whom I admired melting before my very eyes, I think I'd be pretty upset.
I mean, yes, I'm 19 and I watched Kim melt before my very eyes, but I didn't have a negative reaction, because I'm old enough to know the diff.

I did it with ES as I was 5 D=.I thought the movie was funny because of the clown and then I saw the clown eating children... After watching the movie I had over 3 years dreams about Getting hunted by clowns See,if I watched this as 5 years old,I would get dreams about getting melted.
