When my 3-year-old daughter and I were watching the Season 4 premiere, she had this huge smile as she watched Kim and Ron dance. Then suddenly as Kim melted my daughter's jaw dropped open in horror, and she hugged me and hid. I had never seen such a look of shock on her face. She was completely terrified, and said "Kim Possible died?" I thought she would get over it... but whenever I mention KP to her, she thinks of that. Even tonight she said "Kim Possible hugged Ron and melted." She's too young to understand that the melting scene was Ron's dream. So she thinks Kim is dead even if I say she's not. I mean she saw Kim melt. Nothing could convince her otherwise. So my question is... do you think other kids were traumatized by that scene?

My 9-year-old daughter is very sensitive to scary stuff, but she took that scene in stride, and was even amused by it. However, Victoria might very well have been terrified of it if she watched it when she was 3 years old. I suppose it depends on the individual and their age and TV-watching background.

The season 4 promos had that exact scene (and only that scene) playing for 2 weeks. I got numerous complaints and talked with the VIPs about it. They have nothing to do with promos but they did talk to the promo people about it. Soon afterward, we started seeing different promos.

I thought the promo was rather weird though. I would expect kids under the age of 5 years old to freak out.

I was traumatized by the ending of Raiders Of The Lost Ark. Watching Kim melt brought back some old memories. It the one big complaint I have against KP. I feel there should have been some other way to begin a show that survived cancellation, and brought Kim and Ron together as a couple. Even if it was Ron's dream, and tried to be amusing; it was just ewwww!

I was not amused that our first look at Season 4 was that promo. It could have been way more exciting. I've seen some fabulous promos for the start of new seasons that really build up the anticipation for fans. I think the latter promos aired is what the first promo should have been.

Most of the kids these days can stand more than you might think! There are some horrible things happening "Harry Potter" & "Lemony Snicket". Things that are worse than a nightmare in a cartoon! And the kids don'T seem to care that much. Although most of these kids are older than 3 years, so it could really a little bit problematic for kids who are that young.

I recently watched Ill-Suited (and a few other season 4 episodes) with two of my cousins. They are 9 and 6. They were perfectly fine.
I had shown the melting promo to both of them a while back. I expected the 6 year to have a cry, but Dustin was fine. But, he's a boy, and his sister, I think she's tough.

I imagine it would be pretty traumatising for kids of a young age, i was traumatised by a Halloween Special espisode when Willie the gamekeeper melted, this is quite similar, and i was way older than 3 and sensitive to scary stuff. But it varies from child to child.

I agree. My cousins play video games and have farm animals so it might be different for say another child.

I've been traumatised by things when I was younger, I think I was a pretty sensitive child. I once saw some random TV program, it was one of those arty animated things, where there's a model city which is slowly flooded until there's nothing left but water. There were no people but it totally freaked me out and made me cry (Poor little fusion ). But of course now I'm completely over it and now it takes a lot to freak me out (thank you internet ). This promo just seems like bad planning on the part of Disney. People from the UK will remember an advert for gum in which a wet dog crawled out of the mouth of some guy sitting on a couch, it got so many complaints from parents it was cancelled after a few weeks. This is the same, some times execs just cant think ahead to see how promos will effect the audience.

Well, think about this.
That promo gave us some of the best numbers in KP history. 3.3 million people tuned in February 10th.

Well we dont know it was become of that promo ;D Well, it got my attention. It got me pumped up for season 4. Of course, I SEE one promo for KP, and I scream like a 5 year old when they see the Ice Cream truck. Look how many people joined the board after that promo, Fusion!

So my question is... do you think other kids were traumatized by that scene? My first thought was, "No more traumatic than the pic in your sig." Then, maybe. Have you shown her some of the other new episodes? Kim is obviously alive in those.

Hm...perhaps I was a little surprised while watching it...but shocked or anything like this, no. But I'm sure as a young child I would've been scared. I mean, 3 years old...she's just allowed to play with toys with swallowable parts! And Boots and Backpack.

When I saw it on youtube, someone edited the ending of StD with that clip of her melting and it scared me so much lol!! When I saw the promo it still was kinda creepy and I'm 13.
