NinjaNaco: Bless you. It's good to know that I'm not the only Chip and Gadget fan out there. But beware!! There are anti C/G people on this page. Obviously they don't believe things can work out between a Chipmunk and a mouse.
With Rescue Rangers coming out on DVD in a few months, perhaps we can go back and "reanalyze" all these clues like we're doing for Ron and Kim.
Cloudmonet!! You are challenged.
P.S. Wizard Magazine just had a poll on the "sexiest animated females" and Gadget made the list. Yeah!!! She is one sexy mouse. However, KP didn't. Maybe next year. Can't believe Jessica Rabbit did. I cannot stand that character. It's overkill
On the Peanuts shows, good observations on the unrequited love relationships in the Charlie Brown universe. I think it comes from the fact that Charles Schwartz never really did the red-haired girl in real life.
Duhh!!! I can't imagine I forgot about Danny Phantom, and you're right. There is strong shippiness there, but I have no idea on where and how that's going to be developed on the program. But that one two-parter they did two months ago, laid some pretty obvious clues out in the open.
Lastly, the Jake/Rose thing on American Dragon. Has potentional, but I hope the writers can handle it creatively than they have. Mr. Steve Loter (our hero director on KP) has agreed to work on the second season of American Dragon, so hopefully he can develop things better.
Thanks for the answers guys.
Let's not forget about Pebbles and Bam-Bam on the Flintstones, Fred and Daphne on Scooby Doo, and what else out there.
Sincerely,
JThree carolyn@dia.net

Forgot to mention "The Zeta Project" which has been cancelled for several years. Fans were wondering about the "shippiness" between the main star, Zeta (who is an android) and his female companion.
What's funny about is that in a recent interview, the creator/writer said that there was NO intended shippiness and that they were closer to brother and sister.
It's somewhat funny, when the creator of the show, tells what was really intended. Hey. they want people to watch the program, even if it keeps the audience guessing.
Can you imagine what would have happened if nothing happened on the final episode of KP, and the creators/writers said nothing ever was intended between the two.

So true about Codename: Kids Next Door. Numbah 3 and Numbah 4, Numbah 1 and Lizzy, Number 2 and Number 5 (Maybe), Cree and Chad (we'll see.)
Also Little Lulu: Lulu and Tubby
Transformers: Arcee and Springer
Arthur: Arthur and Francine
X-men: Gambit and Rogue
Mighty Max: Max and Bea
The Real Ghostbusters: Egon and Janine
The Legend Of Zelda: Link and Zelda/Link and Sprite
And those are of the top of my head.

Ahem.
Well, the real problem with this is that Chip's team aren't funny animals-- that is, like the ducks in Duck Tales or Darkwing, animals supposed to be the "people" of the show, but actual animals in a human world who happen to have found a role for themselves rescuing other animals in trouble, or sometimes people.
But considering there's episodes in which Zipper the fly attempts to crush on a queen bee, Tammy the teenaged squirrel crushes on Chip, and a bat crushes on Dale, maybe I should ignore biological realities and pretend Gadget might have a future with one of our heroic chipmonks.
I'm sort of inclined to favor Gadget and Dale, actually.
Just please tell me there's no fanatic Gala shippers out there waiting to jump in with three or four reasons why they fantasize Gadget with her Hawaiian look alike, Lawaini. Please, no, no, no. It would be too much, even if they are the same species.
---------
One thing about Gadget and whichever chipmonk, or Robin and Starfire, Jonny Quest and Jessie Bannon, Prince Ren and Tula, or Phillip J Fry and Turanga Leela-- Although traces (or sometimes much more than traces) of romance happen, after the end of the episode, everything does pretty much return to the baseline sitch, whatever that was. The gradual development of closeness between Kim and Ron is, if not unique, not common in the cartoons I've seen. I don't think a "reevaluation of Chip and Gadget" thread would come up with and clear trends.
Ren and Tula, there might be something there-- the story as far as it goes, a mere 21 episodes of Pirates of Dark Water, is linear, but we're a long way from their first kiss when the show stops, I think.
Fry and Leela, there's some movement toward romance-- Fry's made up his mind more and more solidly through seasons 3 and 4, but Leela's at most ambiguously persuaded by the finale, "The devil's hands are idle playthings." It's strange that a show with a tone as satyrical and harsh as Futurama has so many strangely tender moments. Right, and I shouldn't forget the show's second couple, Kif and Amy.

One of the reasons I started this thread, is that despite all our good efforts . . . someday we may have get burned out on discussing K/R of Kim Possible fame, and move on to other television programs to examine for shippiness. I know it's a hard thing to say. And I can't believe nobody's mentioned Jimmy Neutron (I know, I forgot about it also) with the growing relationship between Jimmy and Cindy and Sheen and Libby. Still, compared to with all these other relationships, how many of us would dare think that the K/R coupling is the most mature? At least they'e the same species. Gadget with Dale? You're kidding aren't you CM? Next you'll tell me, Santa isn't real. Sincerely, JThree carolyn@dia.net

Gadget with Dale? You're kidding aren't you CM?[/img] Such wonderful shippy moments between Dale and Gadget in "Dale Beside Himself," and "Adventures in Squirrel Sitting." Chip and Tammy were so cute, even if she is underage... Hey, Dale is the Ron of the Rescue Rangers. Of course he's boyfriend material.

But considering there's episodes in which Zipper the fly attempts to crush on a queen bee, Tammy the teenaged squirrel crushes on Chip, and a bat crushes on Dale, maybe I should ignore biological realities and pretend Gadget might have a future with one of our heroic chipm unks. Well, as for the biology/physics thing, I think that there are degrees of "toon bending of reality" as it were. At one end of the spectrum is "total realism:" all the physics and stuff in the 'toon would be the same if the 'toon was live action and/or took place in reality. The other end of the spectrum would be exemplified in stuff like "Animaniacs" and "Looney Tunes:" Yakko can pull the battleship Yamato out of his pants pocket, and Roger and Jessica Rabbit (a rabbit and a human(!) respectively) can mate and have kids. RR, I believe, falls in between the two extremes. In the "Rangerverse," as it were, rodents can have kids with other rodents, and bugs with bugs. (Recall the hilarious "who says a doctor can't be sick?" scene in the RR ep "A Fly in the Ointment." ) Thankfully, there are none that I know of. Besides, the two most popular theories behind Gadget and Lawhinie are that they are 1)half/sisters or 2)clones. Either way, too genetically close for comfort. True, the Chip/Gadget/Dale triangle was deliberately left ambiguous, and the RR community has generally "agreed to disagree" on the issue. Of course, resolving ambiguous things is what fanfics are for.

YA!!!!!!!!! I apsolutly LOVE Code: Lyoko!!!!!!!! They are my 2 fav show after KP! AH!!!! Ive never found a fan on another site befor! being a girl, I have to say that Ulrich is cute!-not as cute as Ron-but still cute! OH YA the SOOO like each other! I just wached Rotean! my fav Code: Lyoko ep!!!! what about Jeremy and Aelita? There a good one too! ;D the soo like each other too! I'll admit it took awhile before I got into Code: Lyoko... guess it's a bit like kudzu. After a while, it starts to grow on ya. And how on earth could I have forgotten about Jeremy and Aelita? For y'all who are discussing "Rescue Rangers", this one beats all: romantic passion between a real boy and a female AI. And it's one where you start to realize that, after a while, you can't imagine it any other way. Transformers: Arcee and Springer I always thought there was some sort of "sexual tension" going on between Arcee and Hot Rod in a few parts of the movie... I just realized that I used the phrase "sexual tension" in a sentence involving Transformers. Good grief, can that even apply? Just to throw one out there... anyone remember the show "Silverhawks"? Same vintage as "Thundercats", "Transformers", and "Voltron". Yeah. I always thought there something going on between Quicksilver and Steelheart in that one... of course, I was seven at the time...
