Lol mercy! I gave the K/R fans there fluff story. Now spare me! ;D
Anyway I've always thought the father needed some fleshing out in the series. If that means his hobby is revealed to be peeping on young girls then what am I to do. I'm only the writer blame it on the character.
Anyway the whole point of Kim being the cause of Ron lack of hard work is not her fault. Again I'll expand on it.
1. Kim doesn't seem the type that would hang out with someone who acts smarter then her. She also doesn't seem to want to hang out with a guy dumber then her so I'm stuck on that point. Anyway the theory I have behind this is that Ron realized that Kim wasn't as bright as him so he dumbed it down a little. The whole state he is in now is so full of contradictions that I can't even begin to list them so I'll just end with this. It wasn't Kim requesting Ron do this but like so many other things he made an assumption. Kim wants Ron to excel, as shown by episodes where Ron does good!, but she also loves the guy for who he is. I'm thinking Ron will realize the pain he causes her though when he does act like the village idiot and will stop it.
2. The other factor with Kim is that she took care of Ron. Kim is protective of the boy as we can all see. With someone like this looking after him, answering the hard questions, and overall being his guardian he just slacked off. Again it's his fault not Kim.
What Kim does for the guy is she now provides him the motive to do better. Girls always want their guys to do well, if the girl actually cares about the guy that is, and I think he'll realize that soon. Some hard work latter and Ron could rival Wade. He did build a weather controlling machine, a plasma launcher, and a seismic distributor. Good happy fun toys that they are they are also very complicated. Boy not as dumb as he acts and no amount of argument will convince me otherwise.

I've always just chalked it up to the similarities-to-alternate-Disney-character theory. Ron already has so much in common with Eric Matthews... why not that same blatant laziness and lack of self-confidence in his own intelligence? Being a super villain requires quite the self-concept, so I think that's why being evil brings it out of him. Desperations seems to help him as well in the brains area.

Suforst, the second one is quite possible. Some good advice that I heard for parents was to do nothing for your children that they can do for themselves. Good advice that I don't always follow, now imagine how hard it would be for a child to follow that advice.

If I were Kim's teachers or professors. I would give Kim A+'s on all her assignments. I'm very biased that way... and I play favorites. Thats why I'd be a horrible teacher, heh. But yeah, when cloudmonet said that Kim can't be validictorian, he was right. Justine Flanner is probably a better candidate than Kim.

I'm incapable of playing favorite. Oh, those little fourth graders had better beware. Kim also isn't known for being the genius in the family. She is the cheerleader hero, but it's the tweebs that have the high vocabularies and freaky knowledge of science. I agree with the idea that she is possibly Honor Role, isn't the type to exactly flunk. But I imagine she may have seen a C once or twice.

Something I have been thinking and wondering from the seemingly "Genius"-like intelecutal level that Ron had in Pre-K to the lazy and devil may care attuide we see he has in high school.
I have wonder maybe the possibilty that Camp Wannaweep had that much of a psycological effect on him. We know that at least 2 fears came becuase of that (Bugs and monkies), how many other fears were the cause of this? (fear of water? high places, etc)
It may be a bit of a stretch, but might seem a bit plausible that those fears that occured over those summer (or summers) might have put a bit of damage to him.

Not all her fault. Maybe partially. But I can't help feeling that Ron's parents have a part in this too, but they appear too rarely in the series to determine if that is true.

3.5 is Honor Roll, I believe. At least at the schools I've been to.
I'm really liking this theory about Ron's psychological issues preventing his hidden... erm... genius.

I agree with Surforst, the reason why Ron is uncapable of using his hidden genius is because of Kim's contant interference. In Pre-K he does show a huge and impressive amount of knowledge that far surpases even the knowledge of nowadays most 9th grade students. Kim is the only reason why Ron has reached this phychological state, although its not realy her fault. The idea wether Ron as noticed certain worring aspects of Kim's personalitily, does remain the strongest possibility, although unchecked. Throughout the years, Ron's mind has become complacent and untrained, due to an almost constant effort in maintaning a low level of intellectual interest, which with the pass of time has become a subconscious act, being done automaticaly, well out of his control. But still his genius is shown is certain situations, and he does prove to surpass Kim and any other character greatly in several fields. It is a fact that in order to build with such efficiency and ease devices that any other villian(the "Bad Boy" episode), character, including Kim's dad and Wade, he would need to have an natural ability that surpases all of the other characters. So we assume that Ron has a incredible capability in imagining complex situations and in being able to simplifity these. His ability to simplify comes from his capability in creating associations and even from "understanding things his way", and most of these associations may only be understandable to him. If you see carefully, you'll see that Kim in the episode where she sings the song "Say The Word", in the beginning, she quotes, "...you're weird!"..., THIS clearly shows Ron's behavioural differences comparing with the other students in Middleton school. We can also see this somewhat frequently throughout the 3 seasons, and even in Ron's fears of monkeys and bugs, because of his statements, which for Kim don't make any sence, but if you hear closely you will understand how his judgement diverges and still are correct about certain details that are very especific and very hard to even remmember then. These sentences come from the idea that he acquires by analising what others say, or in other words, his cognitive capabilities. His inability in concentrating may be increased because of the fact that he may have some hyperactivity, thus this justifies why doesn't he follow Kim's judgements and practicaly always disagrees. His lack of maturity is also a commom characteristic in gifted chidren, as well as his almost, if not totaly obsecion in certain subjects in his range of interest), another characteristic. His frequent distractions may come from his capability in completely abstract himself, another commom characteristic. Finally we can see that Kim's presence make impossible for Ron to expand his horizonts, but we clearly see that he starts to expand himself in all the episodes that Kim is not present, like The Exchange and the final part of Naked genius. Sorry I have to say this, but Rufus ruins all of Ron's opportunities of freeing himself from the world that he accepted since his pre-k times. This is indeed ironic, since the most intelligent character in the KP series has adopted a lazy attitude, making him an almost "brainless"(although the correct terms would be hiperactive, impatient, imature and sometimes an almost obsesive nature). Maybe this is something that the creators had already in mind an may use this during the 4th season. If this happens, we may expect to see Ron become more intelligent, an may even start to distance himself from Kim, that is if she doesn't accept what he may could have been and still be in the future.

Kim seems to be either in denial or doubtful of Ron's abilities though.
[Bad Boy] Kim: Thanks for the heads-up on Ron. Wade: When he tricked out his old tricycle into an ATV, I knew something was seriously whacked. Kim: Yeah, he's usually not good with tools.
Make whatever you want out of this.

I figure we conclude a couple things about Ron without bringing in Kim.
1. The boy is lazy. Pure and simple. 2. Ron has shown a few times that he is probably suffering from ADD (Attention Deficit Disorder) though the degree of it is questionable. He had shown that he is Implusive (acts without thinking), Inattentive (doesn't always pay attention or is easily distracted), and Hyperactive (He's jumped around a few times). This would hurt him in the academic area but it makes you wonder why they didn't dope him up yet. Schools love to put their kids on drugs as soon as possible after all. 3. Ron's brighter then he seems with his surprising burst of intellect. 4. Ron's dumber then he should be with his suprising diffucult time of grasping concepts. Think Naked Genius for example.
Anyway a few points.
I figure Ron is what we can call a logical thinking individual. He shows most of his bright moments in ability to grasp concepts that challenge Kim and in the areas of the Sciences. He's shown to be easily distracted when writing essays for Mr. Barkin which also reinforces this. On the other hand he's creativity is very high in the fact that he regularly creates Songs on the fly. I'm stuck on this one personally trying to figure out which. I still lean to logic.
Ron shows points where he just acts dumb. He's unable to grasp Algebra even with Wade tutoring him. I have no idea behind this and chalk it up to a contradiction personally. Any ideas here?
Anyway food for thought.

Anyway food for thought. Put the 'lazy' in with the inability-to-be-tutored thing. I've too often seen kids that simply do not want to do the work. This is a wonderful way to prevent themselves from learning anything. Careful not too immediately slap ADD on Ron--ADD is way over-diagnosed by idiots that aren't qualified. And ADD kids are often very intelligent--they just don't do anything with it.

In response to all statements made after, I say that it is true that Kim doesn't know of Ron's true abilities. If she knew that Ron could transform himself to a super human stasis thanks to the mystical monkey power, she would certainly faint, I bet it!.
His personality even changed during that moment, when transformed himself. He became extremely aggressive and his appearance was quite scary, as If he was a savage beast. I bet NO ONE (including Kim and Sensei) could beat him in combat!.
To be true, no one knows of Ron's true capabilities extensively(maybe except Shego and Lord Fist, concerning about Ron's genius and fighting capabilities). Secondly, although new villains are to appear in season 4, I still hope that Dark Ron appears again, and kicks Kim's butt!
It is undeniable that Dark Ron is the most brilliant villain, and most likely the most brilliant character in the Kim Possible series. He built an entire super advanced military arsenal in less than 24 hours. What he built during that time, is much more than Kim's dad or even Wade would build in 5 months or more.
PS: In thinking of logging in. Where do I log in?

Actually, Kim is perfectly aware of Ron's monkey kun fu powers and abilities. As for registering... there should be a register button or something along those lines at the top of the screen on the main board page. Welcome!

I know that Kim if aware of Ron's kung-fu powers, but don't think she knows about his transformation.
