My biggest FF. net dislikes.
Slash: It's gross, and done too much. I've never read a Kigo story nor do I plan to.
Too much language: I'm okay with a few curse words, but we're writing about a kids' show here.
Anything sexual: Once again, kids' show.
I'm okay with death, though I don't kill anyone from Kim Possible in my stories unless it's importent to the plot. I put lyrics as well, but that's only because I listen to a lot of music while writing.

Hey someone finally went and posted the sequel to fanfiction pet peeves. Sweet!
Anyway my dislikes.
1. Slash. Don't read. 2. Any pairing with Shego and Ron. Kigo explained in above point. 3. Rape. I'll tolerate it for a good story but it does ruin the rest of it. I do think it's ok though to make it possible and then save the character at the last moment. After all that's an option I use. 4. Ron portrayed as a angsty loser type and Kim as the little b**** who uses him. I like Kim and Ron so I totally disagree with this one. 5. Song fics. I skip the lyrics. 6. S&M stuff with Kim. Most of these tend to be Kigo (thus my mild amusement turning to full dislike) and I just find it wrong to have Kim wearing a leash and treated like a pet. Just plain wrong. 7. Authors who copy without permission. I saw one author edit down another story but used the same punch line. Poorly done mind you. I actually give permission for other authors to use certain plot elements I have but I doubt that author had permission in that case. I no longer read any of their work.
Stuff I do that I've seen on others list.
Character death - I think it works depending on the story. A heroic death for one of our characters (fried Rufus anyone?) or a story fusion taking place during a war. People die sometimes and some stories require it. In another fic I had Monkey Fist butcher DNAmy. She messed with his family photo so he went a little crazy. What can I say so yeah I use character death. It gets the job done.
*by the way Bates was killed too. Poor chap didn't even get to have an on air death.*
Fusions - I love em. ;D
Songfics - I know I posted I don't like them but I did once post the lyrics for a song once. Tell me if you guys think it was alright.
I think its fine to post lyrics when the character sing. Besides it was suppose to show just how messed up Yori was in this story. Which brings another point anyone who has actually read my Gundam fusion story what is you opinion on that? Did I go too far driving the poor girl nuts?

By Fusions, you mean, crossovers?
I have no problem with crossovers, unless they are poorly done.

Cross-overs just bring two sets of characters together, like that Lilo and Stitch episode.
A fusion is the melding of one into anouther, like MrDrP's Kim Possible : The Next Generation, which has Kim growing up in that time and becoming a member of Star Fleet.

Okay... thanks for clarifying.
I never really cared for Fusions. Too.. Alternative Universe-y for me.

You know, about songfics...I just remembered, I skipped over all the lyrical section in The Lord of the Rings.
I did the same thing at the end of UNION the first couple times I read it. Then I saw Oh Boyz and I got the joke.

I don't usually care for fusions either, until MrDrP's. First one I ever added to favs.
I do like AUs though, if they are done well.

By Fusions, you mean, crossovers? I have no problem with crossovers, unless they are poorly done. There's a difference between crossovers and fusions. 'Crossovers' is when you have characters of two shows mingling together but the reader can tell they are still the same characters. For example: I read a KP fic where Kim and Ron accidently was sent through a Stargate they found and met up with SG-1. 'Fusions' is when characters of one show are *fused* into the universe of another. MrDrP's "Kim Possible: The Next Generation" is one great example of a fusion of the KP and Star Trek: TNG universes. I also read a KP/Star Wars fusion where Kim, Ron, etc. are part of the Star Wars universe. So that's the differences between the two, and I have to admit this. Fusions and crossovers I don't mind if they are greatly written, which are rare (like MrDrP's "KP:TNG" story). Most fusions and crossovers I read are crap.

AU's are all right, as long as they are done well.

I begin to see a pattern in this thread I lot of people keep saying: "I don't usually care for" (insert fanfic event, style or type of story) "unless it is written well" I say the big No-no is to write badly. So watch your grammar, spelling, etc. Compare it with what others do to see if it's worth posting. Or -better yet- read it again. Did you enjoy it? Good, post it. Me, well. I don't like death, but Zaratan's few "kill off"s were done well. My first look into Kigo was "Unnaceptable", so I know the standard by which to judge. Other slashes; well - it all depends. I do see Shego as a survivor, but unlike Zaratan, I can't bring myself to write it. I know it's a kid's show. Part of me thinks it should be written as such. But I've read so much sweet smuff.

I never actually planned to write it (boy, that monologue by Shego in Redemption is coming back to bite me), so I am definitely toning down the rape aspect when I get to it in the story. Believe me, something likes that needs to be written VERY well and handled VERY delicately, and I don't think I could do it justice.
Of course, considering the readership for my Shego prequel, I don't think I would be offending too many, it gets a quarter of the hits my other stories get.

I think AU's are cool! I really don't like crossovers all that much, even though I read some. Also I won't read it unless it is K/R, and when people don't put up a couple warning and I read it, thinking it is gonna be K/R *shudders* When you are a huge K/R fan like me, you have nightmares about that kinda thing! I know they are not real, BUT THAT DOESN'T TAKE THE NIGHTMARES AWAY!!

You've done well so far, but it's good you see the need for delicacy. I think some people may be avoiding Shego backstory because it would ruin the mystery. (Like what happened with X-men's Wolverine.) My own Shego prequel didn't get much either, though the one person to review liked it so much, it's in her C2. (I guess it's my cult classic )

I did a minor Shego prequel to "Soulmates" and it's only just now crossing the 500 hit mark after being up for months. My "Bonnie" fic has been a sleeper too.

I'm wondering, does anybody who reads or write fanfiction, especially with KP, have any certain type of fanfic that they will not read, end of story? A certain topic or thing in a story that will make you so mad that you consider the author to be trash for writing it? What are the things you don't like to see in fanfiction about KP? If so, what is it and why? For me, there are three main things that I do not like to see in KP fanfiction at ALL (there are more, but I'm not gonna go into it): 1. The death of a character in the show-- I do not care if it's a background character or even if it's Kim or Ron. I do not like it. I mean, I can understand if it's for a few chapters and then bringing the character back (which is what I've done, but only once), but to kill a character that we've watched and loved for so long is just... it's just one of those things. 2. Rape-- There have been waaay too many fics in which a character is rape, usually Kim, sometimes even Ron. I'm sick of reading them. To me, any writer that has the audacity to even put that into fanfic is scum. I mean, it's a horrible thing in general, and to do it to a character who you like is just messed up. 3. Breaking up Kim and Ron's friendship-- I have read plenty of fics that do this and I refuse to even consider it in my own fics. As a fan of the show, Kim and Ron's relationship is sacred and to see Kim and Ron lose their friendship is just... it breaks my heart in general. I know it's fanfiction, and not real, but still... All three of these tend to stay in my mind for a while and won't leave me alone after I read them, which is why I don't like them. So, what about you all? In response No No number 1. No member of Team Possible dies: You'll hate my Kyber Crystal Finfic, and probably hate me even more. Rufus is killed by Kim Possible, on purpose. 2. Rape: NOT GOING TO HAPPEN IN ANY FANFIC I WRITE, I mean I've got my standards 3. Breaking of the Friendship: You'll Hate Kyber Crystal even more, not only does Kim and Ron's friendship go out the window, for an entire chapter they're the bitterest of enemies. As I've said before, I draw the line at writing general, and sexual fanfics, I write crossovers, and follow my own fanfic code, But as I said in terms of sex, I draw the line, I will never write a a sexual fanfic EVER.

1) Slash. Not my cup of tea, therefore I will not read Kigo unless it suddenly becomes a three-way relationship K/S/R. The only Kigo I did read was where it showed Ron and Yori together, and that was the only reason I read the fic, for the R/Y stuff, not the Kigo stuff. 3) Making Yori a bad, bad person. I'm sorry, but I love Yori just as much as Kim, and anyone who writes Yori become a bad guy monster, etc. will eat knuckle sandwich from me. G-Go came close to making Yori really bad in "Union", but he redeem her, so I was able to accept the story. Hey JuPmod, your gonne love Trio written by Weirdbard over at FF.net then. Kick ass action with S/R/K flirting all the way through. Also ties in with Slash horrors like Friday the 13th and Halloween. Same here. I also refuse to read Josh being the big bad dude. You all saw the Halloween Episode of KP. He went trick or treating with Ron as a Unicorn's butt. He's a nice guy like Tara is a nice gal. Can you also point me towards the KIGO and Rori fic you read?
