Has anyone ever indicated that any of the characters smoked? For instance, Bonnie smoked as a teen, but quit when she went to college (actually made that an important point in "Redeemable?")

I also just made an offhand comment that Shego sneaked a couple cigarettes earlier in my current fic. Zaratan had her as a sometimes smoker too.

I know it's completely un-Disney, but with a cast that large, somebody smokes.

Bonnie smoked briefly in my series when the stress got to her, but she stopped real quick (only a brief mention in chapter 1 of Bonnie's Curse). As for Shego, she did as well, but quit shortly after she met up with Drakken (haven't gotten to that part yet). Otherwise, despite the fact that I am a smoker myself, none of the characters will ever take up smoking long-term, and no new characters beyond those already mentioned as having tried it will take it up.

Never had any smoking in my fics.

In my fic Kim favors the Marlboro Ultra Light 500's in a box rather than the soft pack...Box is more mission friendly.

She only smokes from time to time when she's feeling edgy or if it's all Ron's fault.

Of course Ron's in the beginning stages of alcoholism so that makes up for his not smoking.

Two burned out bitter crime fighters finding their own way in the world.

I'm not a smoker myself but just about every gal I know either smokes or has tried to quit, quit or only smokes when they are mad at their boyfriends or husbands...lol

Stress reduction.

Of course if your going to have your characters smoke and drink make sure to also show the down side of the vice....Shortness of breath, hard to fight Shego while your wheezing, Shego making fun of Kim's tabacco stained teeth and rhaspy voice.

For Ron, his crappy liver, terrifying mood swings, alienating himself from his friends and family because of the drinking.

Sorry Ron, KP can't help with your 12 step program but it's you that has to make the first move in admitting your dependance.

I got some...interesting feedback about Bonnie being a teen smoker. While I've never smoked cigarettes myself (I'm a pipe smoker) a lot of the girls I knew in school smoked (this was the 80s - smoking wasn't banned everywhere then) Teen smoking is widespread and besides, it was meant to be a plot point (part of it was that Bonnie started gaining weight at that time - and since she was in a relationship of sorts, that was misinterpreted!)

Shego just strikes me as the type. She was sneaking because she doesn't want her daughter seeing her do it. She also doesn't get the ill effects as much as I'm part of the group who thinks her powers give her a sort of 'healing factor'

I never really thought about it, but I can see Barkin smoking. Ex-military, and the stress of being a teacher (of Ron) could stretch your last nerve.

I don't picture Bonnie smoking because it would be "Eww, gross. Almost as bad as Gill."

Shego, meh, she might, but I'd say only on occasion, she seems more of a brew fan to me: "Dang it, Dr. D!" *walks to her room and kills a case of Bud*

I've never made anything of it, but Shego likes the same, unnamed expensive imported lager Mr. Dr. P drinks. (OMG, is that a plot bunny?)

No, I just don't see it. Bubba's vision of Kim, yeah, but not mine.

Kim discovers she has a bit of trouble with alcohol - not dependence, but the fact that since she's so petite, she doesn't handle it well.

I could see Ron drinking socially, or after a long day just kicking back with a few drinks. And as small as Kim is... it wouldn't take much to put her into a drunken stupor.

You know, I don't think I would like to see Kim drunk. She'd be on an emotional roller coaster that would rival the moodulator chip in ES *shudders at the thought*, only she'd have less control. Ron would probably "marinate" a little better with a couple drinks running through his blood, but I don't picture him ever drinking enough to get drunk, just not his style IMO.

In my stories, she's been 'really' drunk twice - the first time utterly by accident (her soda was being 'topped' with Everclear) and both times she ended up passing out - and having a bad hangover the next day.

Could anyone see Ron taking up a pipe later in life? (hey, I started when I was 20)

The idea of Kim and Ron smoking just makes me wanna puke. That is such a bad habit.

And yet there are people who freak out about them having sex, or the mere idea. Frankly, I think them having sex is more safer than them smoking. Drinking, maybe... as it seems in my fics, Kim can drink as much as she can and nothing happens to her. LOL. But, in my fics, Kim drinks recreationally, or as APB says, "because she's been driven to drink by her Save the workd thing." LOL.

Now drinking *senseably*, I can. Say a glass or two of wine during dinner, etc. I might see them get a bit tipsy from the wine, but outright drunk doesn't seem to me to suit them unless it is for comic reaction.

Shego? Maybe not often, given how well she fights Kim without being short of breath.

Now Duff Killigan. Yep, I could see the Scot man take a puff on his pipe. ;D

I never said I could see Kim and Ron smoke. Hell, despite everything I do to the pair of them, smoking is something that they will definitely never take up. For me, it was strictly Shego and Bonnie (briefly).
