Oh, okay.
And what were the different views, Robbie?

Oh, okay. And what were the different views, Robbie? My view was that resistance minutely affected action. In my fic, Inner Machinations of a Controlled Mind,(completely an inner monologue, aside from some added things that had to happen offscreen, like Drakken's orders, or running through corridors) I had Kim affecting her actions, slightly. For example, her subconscious resistance influenced the path she took to Rufus that was parallel to Shego's, with such a wide escape range. Also, I slow-mo'd through the fight looking for things Kim could've done. Like when her elbows were at just the right angle to lock with Ron's when he used her to hit Shego. Her line, "Must capture Ron Stoppable" was the result of her partially blocking a memory in the subconscious, causing the controlled portion to think Ron was the only one with her (I wrote Drakken's command as "Go get whoever was with you", as I couldn't imagine him ever saying Ron's name before STD.). Most of her idiotic behavior ("Yes I am!") was also her resistance showing through.

I read chapter one. It was very good. Maybe it's because my studies of Maslow's Hierarchy of Needs allows me to understand what she's getting at more deeply than if I hadn't studied them, but there was a lot to take in. I will read chapter two after my mind has finished digesting what I just read.

This has become my favorite in-progress fic out there. Keep it going!

Very nice work! Somehow cute, but still IC, something that sadly only few D/S fics manage.

I just gave it a quick glossing over again, and had a thought.
I like how this story manages to take a sort-of serious look at the main characters, without getting away from the silly humor and light-heartedness of the show or making the characters into grotesque monsters that don't resemble their actual selves at all. Everyone seems pretty well in-character.
Nice to know that not everyone feels the need to write something super-serious where Ron turns into a psycho killing machine and Kim has to screw everything that moves and Shego's a drunk who murders people, and etc. etc. where things are so different the author might as well have just made up their own characters for it. Those stories just put me to sleep.
This is well within the show's bounds I think, and with a fresh spin provided by the author's familiarity of Maslow's work.

Thank you so much for this review, yetimonster. Several people have told me the same, and it truly means a lot to me, because that's exactly how I wanted people to feel about Maslow. My 'mission', if you will, was to make a fic that would be an antidote to all those fics you mentioned, and especially an antidote to the sugary OOC-ness of a lot of D/S fics. I'm writing this fic because I was sick of reading the stuff at FF net, and just thought that if I wanted to read something else, it would seem as if I would simply have to take responsibility and write it myself. In undertaking such a challenge, of course I was nervous that I wouldn't be able to pull it off, and I've been unsure several times in the writing of this fic, always worried about whether I was writing them as OOC or not, but people like you have given me the reassurance that I've managed to do an acceptable job, and for that I thank you. This is what I wanted-- to give people, especially D/S fans, a somewhat enjoyable reading experience, because there are so few of them out there. A few of the authors I've seen, like Hematitebadger, Sitchit, Dippy and Zoza (shoot me if I'm forgetting anyone here), made me realize that it WAS possible to write non-OOC D/S. ;D
