If you got a desktop screencapture thing - you could have DVD quality episodes! Yeah... uh, about that... *cough* Let's just say Apple's obtrusive DRM ain't exactly bulletproof.

Hmm, says the Cloud, breaking his concentration from re-roofing the living room and various watercolors and musical projects to react to the stealth Kim episode that appeared unexpectedly yesterday.
Dark? I'm not sure what I'm missing, but I didn't see an outrageous amount of dark here. Are we talking about various people getting stoned? (I mean that literally.) Yeah, that was really scary seeing a petrified Kim fall from a great height and smash on hard ground. Real stone would have shattered, but even stoned, Kim is extra durable.
And there's a titanic battle between a baby and an extraordinarily evil monkey staged to the music of the Flippies. I'm sorry, but the music kinda brightened the darkness.
And Monkey Fist is left stoned and sinking into the ground? Anybody want to imagine DNAmy mounting a rescue expedition, and Monty responding with a big "AAUUGH!!!" ? Nah, Kim and Ron would probably do it. They're so soft-hearted! You know you can't keep a good man down— or a bad one— except this is the last Monkey Fist episode of the (again) reputedly last season. Monty— he's not dead, just stoned, and we've already seen this is reversible. I'd write a story about how it gets reversed, but probably every fanfic writer on this site already is on page 5 of chapter 2 of just such a tale, so I'll pass for now.
I do agree that it did seem like the climactic action seemed compressed into a really tight space, but they managed to pull it off. Kim's outgrown the 22 minute episode, even the 23 minute episode we get with credit tags. Seems like most of season 4 really should be 32 minute episodes, a length unavaiable for TV. Oh well. But how does Futurama manage to squeeze a comparable amount of material without seeming so squeezed? Futurama usually doesn't have fight scenes. Kim's fight scenes are an important part of the show, and while I wouldn't want them to dominate the time the way Teen Titans did, it seems like plot and character is not leaving quite enough space for them. This isn't a real analysis— I haven't timed anything and could be wrong— but it seems this way.
Kim could be a very epic character. One way to stop Drakken's endless world-conquering attempts from getting tiresome could be for each plot to span several episodes, or even a good part of the season. This could be a way to go if we ever do get season 5. Monty could do this too. The Big Bother/Oh No Yono story could have easily been a longer serial.
On the other hand, it is nice to have a show so bursting with imagination that it's as densely packed as Kim's become. There's more than one good way to do a show.
I gave this one a 5.

Absolutely amazing episode! 5 out of 5. Easily one of the best episodes of the entire series, it's going to be a hard one to top. *High quality screencaps ahead!* This is one episode where we get to see some of the most character development on Ron's part (at least in this season). His interactions with Hana are both heartwarming and near-heartbreaking at the same time. Monkey Fist's fate was quite a surprise, where he kinda had it coming, but I still felt pretty bad for him, even if he seemed more sinister than ever in this episode. It was an interesting dark twist to close the Monkey Fist storyline that doesn't go unjustified. His sinking into the ground is probably the most dramatic scene of the series. It leaves the arc open just enough, to where he could be resurrected like Yono was, and end up fulfilling his destiny as one of the most powerful beings in the world. But for now, he is laid to rest. And of course, the kiss between our favorite heroes was a great bonus, and was proven to be essential in a dark storyline such as this one. Does anyone think it seemed a little more intimate, being they were on their knees at the time? Something I didn't catch until the third viewing. Their relationship has really grown since the season began. Monkey Fist looks kinda scary in that pic of him. But the kiss beween Kim & Ron looks so AWESOME

Here's my official review of this one:
So far, this episode has to be my favorite from season four. The whole "dark" theme of this episode was very uncharacteristic of a Kim Possible episode, but the producers somehow pulled it off. I liked every plotline of the episode, especially the one where Kim and Ron played detective in trying to find out about Hana's history. The fact that Kim and Ron had to save every single artifact in that museum sorta annoyed me, but they're heroes, aren't they? I guess that comes with the job. I have to admit that seeing Hana again was nice. While I don't particularly care for babies that much, she pulls it off. The fact that she makes jokes sometimes makes her okay by me. And then there was the climatic battle at the ninja school. The fact that Kim, Yori, and Rufus were defeated so easily sorta gave me the feeling that they were rushing things. That opened the door for Ron and Hana to save the day. When several of the main characters were turned to stone, you just can't help but know that they would be alright. I mean what's Kim Possible without Kim Possible? The way Ron reacted to Kim being turned into stone was the obvious reaction for anyone in his position. Kudos to the writers for realizing that. The main thing that ticked me off in this one was how easily Yono the Destroyer gave up. Hana was just dodging his zaps, why should he give up? I just don't understand that one. And I have to admit that seeing Monkey Fist defeated for what seems to be last time excited me. I have never been a fan of Monkey Fist, but still, having him go down in such a major fashion was nice to see. To amp it up even more, maybe they could have shown a close up of his face when he was going into the ground as though that was his official "good bye". Well, the series is coming to an end, and I couldn't think of a better episode to do that. Sure there are a few more, but I doubt anything (except the finale itself) will match up to this one.
Overall: 9.5/10

Piratess I have to disagree with your comments about the darker tone not fitting with Kim Possible I think it did fit. In fact I loved the dark tone of this episode, heck I hope the finale is even darker. That's fine if you disagree. I still stand by my opinion. Everyone and their dog in fanfiction has written the freakishly dark KP fic, so much that it is almost a stereotype. The show had always had a bounce about it that kept it fresh and original. Having it go fanficy dark is still disappointing for me. I hate it when people write according to the fans' wishes, too. I feel so betrayed! ;D OK let me try to rephrase my feelings on the darker tone of this episode. The tone of this episode was darker then most and I think the finale could be slightly darker. I don't mean that I want KP to become as dark as say Punisher or Batman. I just want the finale to be darker within reason. Just like you Piratess I don't want it to become so dark that it loses what makes it KP.

I understand that. It's my fear, as well. I don't want to see this super-epic Kim Possible show because we already have far too many of those. (sorry to all of you Teen Titan fans, but I honestly cannot put up with that).

Well yeah, the last season of Teen Titans caused the show to jump the shark with its more dramatic, less comedic stories compared to the previous 4 which had a subplot but never stopped being fun.

Will, could you please send any pic of "Yono the Destroyer"?. Or some pic of the "traumatic scenes" with Ron crying or Kim turned into stone?.

Tis true. He was a very respectable villain. Yes, he was very evil, but he was also very noble at the same time.

I'm glad monkey fist is gone. That's one enemy out of the way. That is the same reasoning I use for wanting Shego dead.

I'm glad monkey fist is gone. That's one enemy out of the way. That is the same reasoning I use for wanting Shego dead. I love shego but let's not forget what shego, drakken, monkey fist, duff, and etc are. They are bad guy's. That's why I did not think this episode was Dark at all. That's why im confused about everybody saying this episode was Dark. I did not see anything Dark about it.

Normally, Monkey Fist woulda just been chucked in jail, instead of turned to stone and sent right to hell. Kim, Rufus, and Sensei getting stoned was also preety dark. Not sure why.

Being turned into stone does not exactly preclude a return of Monkey Fist. The Yono monkey was restored by Monkey Fist, there's not reason why he could not be restored by someone else, say the aliens in the finale, it's not like he's actually dead, merely frozen.
As far as Shego, or any of the other villains being killed, that would leave no potential for redemption, not to mention restricting things too much for any potential later production, such as DCOMs down the road. I am aware these aren't on the table right now, but things can always change, it would be unfortunate to write any part of the series in such a fashion as to prevent a later revival.
