Oh boy, guess some folks don't realize the filter is at work with this thread. That's all I gotta say. Ohhhh....yesss...ok...no, she is for sure not THAT kind of a very friendly person!

I honestly don't think dating a couple guys (she only crushed on Ron) is at all unusual for high school. There's nothing fast about it at all, it's pretty normal. It certainly doesn't make her "loose." She seems too kind and sweet for that sort of thing, and maybe even a little shy.

The more I think about this thread the weirder it gets. Despite what I said above... I also think of Tara as the ultimate in innocence and sweetness. She may like the boys, yes, but she strikes me as very naive.

Wow, cynical much people? Why is Tara being genuinely sweet hard to accept? Yeah, she had a thing for Ron, but Ron never made a play for her. How is that her fault? What signs of possible reciprocations did Ron ever show? We don't know how the relationship between Josh and Tara finally ended. So Tara had a crush and two boyfriends in three years? That hardly means she gets around. I also like how the word filter changed the meaning of the question so people are probably not voting they way they mean to. I don't think I could've put it better. I voted 'yes' to the original question; 'is she a very friendly person?' Now it appears that I am complicit in labeling this sweet girl a tramp. What is the deal?! If she had been developed more, we'd more than likely see some reasoning behind her kind nature (they even allowed some character development for Bonnie...Bonnie!...clumsily done though it may have been).

She's cute. Reminds me of my crush. Wait, every girl reminds me of my crush...

I have a friend who at least personality wise is like Tara, she happens to be brunette rather than blonde, but she is in fact simply that good hearted and trusting of a person. I'll admit that I was a bit suspicious at first simply because people aren't that kind without a motive but turns out she's just nice to everyone she meets. And it makes thinking about Tara a bit easier when you have a real life version to look back at. So Tara is in fact simply that nice a person. And it wouldn't surprise me if some of Bonnie's 'tude is simply to try to keep people away from Tara she doesn't think would be good influencees on her, I speak from experience there as the person keeper awayer.

Actually, Tara had four guys in one year. Josh, the guy she went on a date with in Steal Wheels, Jason, the guy she originally planned on going to the prom with, and the guy she actually went to the prom with.

Then again... in my college apartment, I was considered the sweetest and most naive, yet I could be the sluttiest flirt you could have at BYU-Idaho.

lol, "very friendly persontiest." The word filter on this thread is funy sometimes. And it wouldn't surprise me if some of Bonnie's 'tude is simply to try to keep people away from Tara she doesn't think would be good influencees on her, I speak from experience there as the person keeper awayer. Wait...People can't just be nice without a motive?? What the hell, dude, seriously? I know plenty of genuinely nice people. I like to think of myself as a nice person, and I'm not just nice to people for personal gain or anything. I just try to do what I think is the right thing to do. I mean I'm not nice all the time, but it's not like I try to lead anyone on. I'm guessing you must not have met many decent people if you think no one can be nice just for the sake of being nice.

Nobody is thinking Kim as loose. In Season 2, Kim dated Josh, and also crushed on Ron, Hirotaka, and Bobby Johnson.
Dating is fun. For some people, trying to find the right person takes a few more rolls with the dice before they find the right person. This doesn't make them a bad person.

I have a friend who is kinda like Tara.. always friendly, trustful, happy etc. But deep in her heart.. she is full of hate and anger. She just doensn't show it on the outside. I think Tara is kinda like that.

This is what I hate about High School, just because she has a couple of dates she gets called losse. Tara's a good girl, chaste and decent. just look at her she's so cute, you could put a halo over her head

just look at her she's so cute, you could put a halo over her head I'm sure there is already one but we are unable to see it because our minds are so corrupted that we think she could be "loose". She was now seen with...3 guys. Perhaps she stopped being around them because they wanted her to do things she didn't want. They wanted to play her innocence and childlike naivety against her, let her become their puppet. Luckily, she knows when it goes too far and she doesn't want to be treated like this. She's grasping for love, admiration, a place where she feels secure so she keeps looking for a guy that can give this to her. But there's always something feeling not right when she's holding hands with this boy, when she's kissed by him...she doesn't him. She doesn't want a boy. She wants, no, needs...Kim. Okay...sorry.

I like your explanation, Baroque. I explains well why she had several guys while still keeping her character intact.
Though not the Kim/Tara thing.

from what I remember a girl gets called loose for three reasons
1) She is loose, but not in this case. 2) The one who is dating her, who is not getting any tells his friends that he is. 3) the guy that wants to date her, but gets turned down, becomes mad and tells lies
