Publishing a story. Some just lurk for months before posting, so the time of their first chapter or story is the determining factor.

Nope. In fact, he only started a couple weeks before I did. Sure seems longer though, doesn't it? Wow and here I thought you guys started the whole thing. As for voting for this thing I'll get back to you on it. Lot of stuff to consider. |

great looking site! and... *sniffles* I'd like to thank whoever nominated one of my stories... Even if it's already there, vote anyway - 'nominations' are actually just people/stories that have votes, so the more votes the better!

I thought nominations are putting together a list of stories/people to be later voted upon. Are you saying when people send in a list of nominations, they are also voting for the stories/people to win the categories?  |

This is a "Peoples Choice Award" Format - the "nominations" are purely those who actually have votes so far.

Next year, I'm going to be a bit more ambitious (mainly because I only thought of this half an hour before posting it) and I'm going to compile complete lists of eligible stories for each category. For now, we are simply working within a popular vote style and highlighting the current nominations at the website. Next year, you won't see which ones have been voted for, since a complete list will be there, but I think it will be fine for the first year.

Not to take any attention away from the Fannies (because I'm excited about it), but I recently posted the site on the kimpossiblefans LJ community, and someone there thought I was referring to an awards show TVTome.com is holding. fanfiction-awards.tripod.com/I've never even heard of this site. Thanks, Allaine. I never heard of it either. It's kind of disappointing. The only stories I recognize on their nominations are yours and Rocinante's. The few I looked at experimentally didn't thrill me at all. Who nominated those? Looks like somebody did something along the same lines as Zaratan. I didn't look too closely at the code or anything, but somehow I get the impression that one's out of date - I didn't see any deadlines.

It was started a year ago, I didn't know about it until someone told me about it. It never did get finished. That's where mine is just a little bit different, since this will finish next week (small hint if you haven't voted yet). Still, would have been nice if they had been able to.
