Is there a chance that you'll be uploading more of your awesome KP backgrounds onto your website?

WOW! You have works for Pirates of the Caribbean! I didn't know you did concept art for it!!! Oh btw, a question: Sometimes I cant help but spot similarities between the locations in the Star Wars and Kim Possible universe. Like Drakkens' layer for example, which looks similar to the' Government House' on a Star Wars computer game... I'm just wondering if you were ever inspired by locations or backgrounds in the Star Wars universe. If so then can you give us any examples?

Darth Comrade-If you scroll back a bit, you'll see I already answered your Star Wars question. "Pirate' was originally slated to be a direct to video cartoon. We worked on it for some time before the plug was pulled and the decision later made to go live action. Considering the success the films have been been, someone knew what they were doing.
nabusan- I'm currently working on the second season of the Replacements, along with some other KP alumni. It will look somewhat different than the current first season episodes, which we hope will be positive changes. I'm also working on some personal projects in my 'spare time'.
Thanks for the compliment, morefood. I really should give the site more attention.

Oh wow, sorry I didn't notice the thread moved so fast! (I thought I might've forgotten to post the message! ) Thanks for the answer, and yeah the star wars influence tends to be discrete most of the time! but great work on the layer, I've always loved it, it's one my most favourite locations on any tv show! EDIT: Pirates was going to be a cartoon!? I wonder how that would've turned out! Interesting. Very interesting. Thanks for that Mr. Ice.

Hey Andy! Just curious, do they ever make you draw backgrounds that have been drawn already - like Kim's bedroom? Or do they use stock images from stuff you've already created?

We usually use the stock drawings for familiar places, unless there's a story point to address. In the case of Kim's room, I've drawn close ups of her closet, (including her secret closet), and variations on her bedroom, like the episode where fashion pictures are spread all over the room.

Hi Andy! Did you have any part in the making of the finale?

Same part I've had in every other episode this season.

Do the backgrounds for the finale have the sort of epic feel of the backgrounds for So the Drama?

I think everyone on the crew tried to make the finale as special as 'So the Drama'. I don't want to give anything away, so I'll leave it up to you whether the backgrounds are 'epic'.

I think everyone on the crew tried to make the finale as special as 'So the Drama'. So the Drama was the most awesome animated movie ever, I'm so glad about the finale. And at the same time, sad...

Have you ever done a background that was never used on KP?
Do you get paid per background?

I can't count the number of backgrounds that were never used, usually because of editing cuts, due to time or other reasons. I think they calculated at one point this season, there was enough cut material to do another 4 episodes from this season alone. As frustrating as that is for me, the work done by the storyboard artists that is tossed aside is mind boggling. I get paid by the week, not by the background when I work on the 'staff' of a show. I sometimes 'free lance' for another show, and pick up some work that I'm paid per piece for. On KP, I was always on staff.
