More illustrations from Pengychan's ''Spirit of Snow''!Chapter: 30
Description: the storm has subsided, meaning it's time for Yuki to leave ''Castle Fiske'' and head home to Mount Yamanouchi. She hugs Monty tightly, having no idea what he's up to.
Chapter: 32
Description: Monty and his monkey monions are packing for the next day's trip to Africa, when Chippy, after being scolded by Monty, drops the bunch of clothes he was carrying on the floor. Monty notices Yuki's silk nightgown, and in furious rage, he throws it into the fireplace, where the flames consume the ''reminder'' to nothing.
*This scene is similar to the ''hellfire-scene'' from Disney's '
The Hunchback of Notre Dame':
s26.photobucket.com/albums/c137/servalgirl/?action=view¤t=hond_0892.jpgVampirenaomi pointed out the similarity between the scenes, and I have to admit I used it for reference. You can see a clear resemblance.
Collecting the pieces of the Obsidian MonkeyChapter: 33
Description: The Obsidian Monkey's right arm was located in the
Libyan Desert, an African desert that is located in the northern and eastern part of the Sahara Desert.
Monty encounters Team Possible, and despite his discomfort of being in his old clothes from his days as a famous explorer and archaeologist, Monty's cunningness is on top, and he ''outsmarts'' Kim by proving his research is legal (or whatever^^") by showing her
an excavation permission for the whole Libyan territory.
*Monty's expression is not much like a calm and handsome ''I-know-best'' smirk that makes everyone else stupid, like I pictured. It turned out to be directly...evil in a ''duh!''-kind of way. Hm. Makes me wonder what's going on in my mind sometimes. There's nothing I can do about that now.
If it should fit somewhere, it's supposed to be from where Monty takes the paper back from Kim and puts it back into his pocket. Still, this expression should come after he HAS PUT the paper BACK in his pocket, saying the line
“I’m afraid you and your sidekick made a long journey for nothing. Face it, Possible – you can do nothing”, not while he's FOLDING it.
Maybe I'm too picky.
*This illustration reminds me of some scenes in '
Monkey Fist strikes' a lot- mostly because the angle and poses are VERY similar.
*I've been wanting to draw ''Monkey Fist'' in the outfit that was so typical for ''Monty Fiske'' for a while. Now I got an opportunity to do so. I may draw a full-body drawing soon, since the illustration cuts it off at the hips.
Chapter: 34
Description: The Obsidian Monkey's left arm was located in South America, or more precisely; in
Lake Titicaca, at Isla del Sol, Bolivia.
*I was going to have two of the monkeys carrying two suitcases each (containing the equipment for diving and such), but I forgot to.
Chapter: 35
Description: The Obsidian Monkey's torso was located in
Himalaya, you know- a mountain range in Asia.
Monty has fallen ill. At least, the fire brings some warmth to a tired, fevered body. But Monty's probably too obsessed and tired to even feel it's really fire.
*The fun starts here! In the fanfic, Monty and the monkey ninjas are described wearing thick jackets, for protection against the freezing cold. Jackets, huh? You see what I drew.XD Ok...the monkeys are wearing only jackets, but not Monty.
*The background was made by taking two cave-backgrounds and paste them both together into the picture with some transparency. Done in Paintshop Pro 9.
Chapter: 37
Description: The Obsidian Monkey's legs were located in
Madagascar, Southern rainforest. Hehe, as you know, Monty revealed he had never been to Madagascar in '
The Full Monkey', probably because lemurs isn't his field, or of interest, as lemurs are primitive ''half-monkeys'', not REAL monkeys. Now he finally HAD to go there.XD
Monty encounters lemurs(!) of the species
ringtailed lemur (or katta) and later some protective
fossas (see the illustration). Not without injury.
*The fun continues- a misunderstanding made me draw Monty in a WHITE SHIRT. The descriptions in this part of the chapter described Monty wearing a (torn up) shirt. Funny...too late, after a chat with the author herself, I understood the ''shirt'' was the green ''explorer/archaeologist''-outfit, or ''khaki outfit'', as I like to call it. Sorry, MY bad. I didn't know ''shirt'' could be used for it as well.
But hey- it has a good side to it too. I feel the already green background wouldn't work very well with the green uh...''jacket'', erasing Monty's shapes a bit, not making him very prominent (camouflage in this case is not a good idea).
Now, he's wearing the short pants of the outfit, so let's say he brought with him an extra shirt.
Trying out Monty in different kinds of clothing has been very fun and refreshing.
Still, I have the feeling there is some symbolistic in Monty getting his most special, personal clothes destroyed. First the ''explorer-outfit'', telling me he has completely lost what he once was. Then the monkey kung fu ninja garb- which I associate with ''evil'', ''plotting'', ''striking'' Monty. And so much more.
I hope I didn't ruin anything now.
*The fossas are drawn in my own style- remark the LARGE cat-eyes.XD
Coming up: *The last location, drama at Mount Yamanouchi!
*After-scenes, the end.
