Wow! The art in this thread is incredible! I just looked through all 20 pages, and there's really great stuff here! I made a few pics of Monty awhile back (a long time ago)... haven't shared them in this thread yet...

So, it was you who made those! I've had them in my Monty fanart folder for ages, and I always wondered where they had come from. Awesome work. I especially like the second one. Really cute.

I'm thoroughly impressed at all this art work of Monkey Fist. His fan base has grown quite large in the time of my long absence. Not only is it abundant in quantity the quality is astounding. So much wonderful and talented artists drawing their favorite monkey man. Any kind of talent passed me by when I was born and usually fan art does not peak my interest but when I saw this thread had reached 20 pages, it deserved a closer look. The other thread is interesting as well. Looks like Monkey Fist day was a success and I'm glad to see one character can bring so many different types of people together. Kinda of like Kim. Well she is the star of the show and the characters that branch off from her have brought everyone to this wonderful forum. Some people have left for good while others pop in and out at random, but in my heart of hearts, this forum will never fade. lol If everyone is as tight knit as the Monkey Fist fans appear to be, this forum will outlast time itself. But people grow up and mature. Maybe the DVD release in the states and wherever else they are not will put the spark back in the fans passion for fine Disney programing. Here's to more friendships and everlasting love for your fellow fans. May we always cherish these times.

I agree entirely with ~*PurpleNeko*~. I think the Monty community has been really lucky to get such devoted and amazing people together. I guess this thread has lost some of its significance now that most of us are posting at the Monty LJ club, but it would be a shame to let it die. So, here we go. All of these are relatively old. This is based on a mature Shego/Monty fanfic that I wrote as a gift for Lupa. Shego looks all wrong here because I drew her too small and couldn't get her design right because of that. I should have drawn her separately and added her into the pic. Another random pic. This is based on an idea by my friend Gemini Artemis. She was watching the episode "Downhill" with her brother when he remarked on that the bathrobe Barkin was wearing in the end looked a bit similar to Monty's smoking jacket in MFS. GA said she got pretty funny mental images from thinking that maybe the bathrobe really was Monty's. Case of the Missing Bathrobe 2The solution to the mystery. I put this behind a link because not everyone may want to see DNAmy like this. Nothing beyond PG-13 here. A pic I drew for LilyHellsing. It's based on the characters Nukpana and Hasani from her Monkey Love fanfic series. Nukpana is Monty's lover and Hasani is their little son.

Thanks for the thread bump, Vampirenaomi. Although I haven't posted here in a long time, I haven't forgotten about this thread. It means too much to me to just turn into dust. I'll keep it up as soon as I'm done with the new illustrations I'm working on.
It was created by a Monty fan, and it has grown thanks to the increasing Monty fandom- small, yet very devoted. It's more than just a fan thread, at least to me. It contains the work of people who care deeply about what they do, and it gives insight through the picture descriptions. I for one have improved my drawing skills from a pretty loose stage to something a lot more disciplined when it comes to technical building. Also, I don't think I would have ever got an interest in human characterization if it wasn't for this fandom. Further, it has helped me to find a new goal- my fellow fans have inspired me to become an illustrator. There's nothing more I love than visualizing emotions, story, action, interaction and situations.
VN, all I can think of saying is repeating how much your excellent humour brightens up a dull day.XD Your drawing skills are pleasant to look at, and you improve for each piece you do.
Pic #1: Such great character interaction and in-character dialogue! It also shows how you're capable of pulling off creative poses that fit the picture idea.
Pic #2: It's so great to see how you dare jumping into using a difficult angle. It adds to the drama and the action. Monty's expression is also very original and the ''wrinkle-effect'' really gets me every time. It's very...expressive, as always! He looks like he's in disgust, but I haven't read the story, so don't know if it's right or not.
Pic #3: You told me you're not good at the somewhat dramatic or cozy effect the candlelight gives, but I think you did it just right. The glow is pleasant and adds the right atmosphere. I wonder what the artifact could be this time? Books is something I associate much with Monty's personality, and the episodes have given me the impression that he has several bookshelves- all full of sources of knowledge. Gotta love the smoking jacket/robe of his.^^
Pic #4 (and part 2): Your humour. Again. The idea is simply hilarious. I also love how you did Monty's room, especially the two windows. Looking at one of the pictures of the castle from the great outside, it looks like the room could be in one of the upper towers.
Pic #5: In all your pics of Nukpana, you've handled both design and poses lovely. Yet again, Monty's expression is oddly cute, curious and original.<3

There's nothing more I love than visualizing emotions, story, action, interaction and situations. I agree entirely. I may have a biased opinion since I'm a Monty fan myself, but I think our little group is one of the best and coziest places in the KP fandom. All the fanwork is generally of good quality, we are supportive of each other despite some of our differences, and lots of the best comments I've ever received have been from you guys. I wish the atmosphere was like this in every fandom, but I guess what we have is something special. Sappy, I know. I suppose there's always the danger of becoming too close, though. I sometimes think that someone who hasn't posted about Monty yet might feel intimidated to do so because we're so close. I wouldn't want to give the impression that this is some sort of private group of insiders, so I hope people will be encouraged to join us. There can never be too many Monty fans around. Thanks! This is the first fandom in which I post fanart relatively actively, and it's all because of the supportive atmosphere not only among Monty fans, but among KP fans in general. It's great to know that there are always people who are willing to help and give tips. Yes, that's the effect I was going for. I don't think the fic would be your cup of tea, so it might be a good idea to stay away from it. Thanks for all the comments. I really appreciate getting them from someone as talented as yourself. Let's keep this thread alive.

Get to know fellow fans and drag them into the ''family'' isn't a very big problem for me- I always get really eager when I find a potential fan. If the fan joins and starts posting, I'd say the chances for getting closer to the other members are in the box (am I forgetting something?). I'm always willing to share thoughs and get to know new members, and if they're willing to do the same, the chemistry will start to live. That's how it started with you and Pengy too. MY problem is that I'm way too open-minded, honest and gullible. It has got me into trouble before. So yeah, new fans are more than welcome to join us.^^ So true. I know..but it's a great picture regardless of the fic itself. Thanks! And yes, I won't let it die so quickly.

Eheh, it was a pleasant surprise to see this thread again - I had almost thought it was dead since you post most of your art on the community, but I'm glad it isn't. It's definitely the art thread I view most often, and not just because I am a Monkey Fist: the overall quality of the artwork is just amazing. Speaking of which, Maria, you already know how much I love those pics XD They're well done, and the ideas behind them are always awesome. As you both said, it's just great how smoothly things always worked out in the fandom. I just love the atmosphere we've got here: lots of different ideas and tastes, and yet no one single fight. I've always viewed different tastes and opinions as something that makes a fandom grow and get richer, especially when there is mutual respect between different fans - too bad not quite as common as it should be, for such things awfully often end up with ship wars or fights among fans (which bugs me to no end, but I guess that's because I have an extremely low tolerance to such stupidness ) Yup, that's true. It can happen to feel intimidated when you see the members of a certain fandom are so close already - it happened to me as well, but I eventually decided to give it a try because I liked the group/fandom's atmosphere, and things worked out amazingly well. I hope the same would happen to anyone who would decide to join us ^^ Hey, last time I checked the first two points were not a "problem" at all. Actually, is someone I really appreciate

I doubt this thread will die so fast I can`t say how happy I am to met you guys.... The thing is, I never had internet at home until February of this year, and when I fell in love with Monty some when in May 2006, it was pretty strange, although it wasn`t my first animated love. But it was stronger this time, and I felt so lonely.... I mean you know what this is like, you want to tell the whole world about the guy you adore so much and so on... my friends just kept saying that I watch too much cartoons, and, to be true, I thought with already twenty years that wouldn`t happen again..... I started looking for pictures of Monty in the internet, and it didn`t take long until I saw the drawings of someone named servalgirl XD I didn`t knew anything about how to make an account at a community or something, I had to deal with some other stuff at this time, but I had that feeling that I was not longer alone anymore. I hoped that there would some day... well, I don`t know exactly what I was expecting, but I wished I could... talk to some of you guys... it was like I knew you already, or at least about your existence. I just want to say that I`m happy about how this all went, and you are all so friendly... I made so many bad experiences about forums this year, well, probably my fault, and not everybody is so tolerant like you are about opinions and so on... I really enjoy the atmosphere at T.U.M.A.... Thank you guys!!!!!

Yeah it is, which may be daunting to someone picking it up for the first time. Hope it doesn't deter you It's actually a the third part of a sort of trilogy in which Team Possible encounters a team of teen mercenaries who are their evil 'opposites'. In this third story, Monkey Fist is 'freed' by a shaman who animates his stone body, thus working around the Yono's curse. Monkey Fist of course had to adapt to having a stone body, and part of that was altering his outfit. This one is a bit simpler, with velcro fastenings at the chest since his numb fingers can't work with the intricate buttons and lace which were on his other 'fancy' uniform. But of course, that doesn't stop him from gaining access to the Yono's abilities, as can be seen...

That sounds exiting... maybe I will read it by time. There are a few fics I should read currently, but I find no time XD There is always so much action in your pictures! I`m working on some illustrations, too, and there are a few fight scenes, and I tried to use special angles and perspectives, but my characters look still kind of dead....

That one right there is my favourite of the illustrations for the latest chapter, Slyrr. Well, apart from the one with Drakken, of course. Just looking at it kind of fills one with anticipation.

Slyrr, I just want you to know I really love the quality and effort you put into your illustrations. I haven't read much through the fic, but sometime I will take a closer look. The whole thing sounds so epic, creative and....there's even a mustelid, a weasel, in the story (yay, Rueful!).XD Best uh...''evil'' opposite of a small rodent ever. I feel bad for not having commented on you at all, but I'm always amazed by your work. Not only are you brilliant at capturing action and movement in still pictures, but your technical skills in anatomy are excellent as well. The characters are beautifully built and look ''3D'' in the space where they're placed. I really love Monty's pose in the last illustration here. It's the best ''almighty'' pose I could have ever wished to see Monty in. His fingers look slender and really nice compared to the trouble I have to go through every time I draw his hands. They tend to turn out too large compared to his head way too often. I'm looking forward to more treasures from you! I`m working on some illustrations, too, and there are a few fight scenes Hey Claudia...are you working on Monty-related illustrations, or is it for something else? You've got me interested!

Hey, that illustration is simply amazing - I hadn't seen it on the other thread! It makes me even more curious now...I really need to find more time to read, dammit Do that when you get time. It's a long read, but it's absolutely worth it. You got BOTH of us interested ...and I don't really want to speak for anyone, but I bet Maria's interested as well XD
